You want more kids?

Really?

We had 23 under 21yo on a list of 45. Think about it.

You do know we didn't replace all the 15 experienced players we moved on in the last 2 years? Where exactly do you think we could find experience? Don't say they draft.

Khamis doesn't save the world but he's an upgrade on Gov, and gives us depth.

New coach selected him 16 times this year.

Coxy knew this year wasnt going to plan with all the injuries and he wanted to see some of the kids.

Dodo has thrown out all his toys. He should take heed to your last line.

Friggin Carlton recruiters, you just can't help but keep making the same Crap year after year!! A total obsession with Recycled Rubbish that clogs our list and take us no where!

The Florent Deal for a 3rd rounder was totally unneccessary. He is Cooked. His best is past him. He is the perfect recycled rubbish.

He is on a long term deal... BIG money.... Are we going to cover that too??

Youre making up stories dodo. Relax.

You have no idea how much Florent costs, and you obviously don't know, he's the 3rd best kick at the Swans and you probably don't know he played 16 games this year and more than 20 in the 5 years prior (yes, since he was 21yo...at the Swans). His foot skills make a mockery of the skills we have at present. Watch this guy hit targets and run away from opponents.

Have we ever failed with a senior Sydney Swan player coming to the club? Cats we have, but not Swans senior players: Great development and no flower policy.

He just received a 5 year contract last year. Cooked? Mate, get a grip. Sydney are not fools and neither are our Recruitment crew.

Tell us what we should have done. You can do this now with a rear view mirror. I'm curious. I don't think you have answers, and I don't know if you're being serious with your complaining. Smile.

Are you kidding me?

Would you be able to tell me first why Sydney has offered him a Mega deal only to tell him he is not wanted & better to look elsewhere?

We have failed with Senior recycled players from so many Clubs in the Past. Would you like me to dig deep and give you a list of complete failures?

Khamis is not upgrqade on Gov. He is worst than Gov. He can't read the Game... I have watched him many times this year. He is just Average. won't make us better!

I tell you what, how about we wait until the end of next year and we can then revisit those conversations and see how far off I was?

There's hits and misses at every club.

Don't look at carltons first 2 decades since the penalties. We were a shaddow of a club. No one wanted to come to us.

WE had a bit of bad luck with injury crippling Gov and Williams, and that left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

They way I see it is we were dog shit in 2025, so I welcome change.

New players coming in, who knows. They might end up flops, they might end up premiership champions. Time will tell.

But change has to be a good thing

That's great advice. You should listen to yourself. Look before you leap. Dont take Crusader's advice.

I bet Gov isnt playing in 2027, and maybe not in 2026. I hope we keep him for depth, but I can't say I'd like to rely on Gov in 2026. He doesnt put his body on the line anymore, in fear of getting injured.

Did you see Govs shot at goal against Pies after the siren, when we needed him to kick a goal to win? Hence the need for the upgrade. Khamis isnt going to cost us. I'm not overly excited by the trade, but I'm not losing my shit over the decision either. Like I said, he's an upgrade on Gov, at the very least.

Gov couldnt break into a team with 16 out injured in the last 3 rounds. Thats a fact.

Godness me, some of those names you mentioned were before I was even Born

Can I ask you an honest question? Do you actually work for the Club? I only ask because some of your responses and posts over the years raises a lot of question marks!!

Everyone at Carlton knows our Rectuitment has been the Worst in the entire AFL System for a decade. We have burned so many players, its not even funny! To say this happens to all clubs is just living in denial!

Florent arrives at IKON Park with a wealth of experience, having played 184 AFL games - 130 of those consecutively for the Swans from Round 20, 2019 to Round 12, 2025 - including every game in both Sydney’s Grand Final seasons.

Resilient and played in 2 GF's

Just sayin.

Florent is a good pick up. We've been interested before, Sydney gave him a long term contract to ward off suitors. But now they want a big ticket forward and need to shed salary, so we're sniffing an opportunity. I was against him being included in the Curnow deal given the salary dump scenario, but as a near-freebie I'm all over it. Good point from bondi about the age profile. High end of the 23-27 range we were short in, but still meets the criterion.

I do agree with Dodo over Bondi that Buku isn't as good as Gov, but ticks other boxes for the depth chart: age (25), speed, athleticism, versatility, accurate kick for goal.

GOV is all but almost Gone. The Club is going to delist him. That's the Vibe we been getting. He is a McGovern- always had natural abilities but injuries killed his Game. He can't even kick a 20m pass anymore!

Khamis is not going to be an uprade to him. Some of the Youngsters that been at the club for 2-3 years need to Step up

Technically you're right, it is a fact, but you know as well as I do that it was about contract triggers, not ability ;)

So you reckon he will be a walk up Starter in 2026?

He reminds me of Newman who is coming back next year as almost a new recruit. Can you see both of them in the team?

And this is the thanks I get for agreeing with Dodo.

Gov is finished and can't kick a 20m pass (lol what) and Buku is a downgrade? Jesus, maybe it's time I laced up the old boots, then!

i think culturally we were stuffed in 2025, so stepping forward to proactively shift that for 2026 is a step in the right direction.

i don't think we'll be a very good footy team in 2026, but by 2027 with a much upgraded list, a good mix of new and experienced and most likely a new coach, we'll be ready to surprise a few.
