100% we're a better football team with him in it but the question is are we a better club with him a part of it?

Elijah looking happy in this video. Damn I hope makes it work. He is just too good. I have no idea if he deserves another chance, but I guess if he is training the Club and Leadership group must think so.

Absolutely wrapped to see Elijah out there, I didn't think we would see him again. Obviously still has a way to go but it's a start.

He wouldn't be the first young bloke to run off the rails would he . Plenty of examples where Clubs have stuck with these types to be ultimately rewarded . Of course the don't get it right the first time . There is always a hiccup or two . Persevere , show patience .

Big risk, but big rewards if it works out.
As long as the club is put first I'll back whatever the outcome is.
It is all in his hands now to salvage his career.

Interesting to see who Skull picked in his "team", in the CFC article Skull said he picked all the "competitors". In the video he has (amongst others) Elijah, Lewis Young, and McGovern in his team.

Skull wrote:
It was a draft system - ‘Mots’ went more for who the funniest blokes were that he could pick, whereas I went more strategic - I went competitors.

So much for the rumors he was looking unfit.

Best foot forward Lij and just keep on running straight.

I guess if the Blues do decide to keep him, they are going to need some happy, happy redemption stories to seed in the media.

Personally, I just want to see the positive made happen, rather than the negative. I'm just tired of seeing talented people throw opportunities away, through some poor decisions. I get all the Yeah But responses, but I just want him and the club to have a win that helps both parties thrive.

I think I'm getting old and sappy........................

We’ve had a few very talented flawed types over the years going back to Ezra Bray and Lawrence Angwin it would be nice for all to have a redemption story

The absolute King of flawed types was Brent Crosswell . On a day out he was peerless . Breathtakingly brilliant .

It's an interesting one because thanks to our recruitment it seems like his profile isn't one that we need more of, but on the other hand if he has the right attitude then he will be miles ahead of the other train-on candidates, so it would be pretty poor form to reject him having invited him.

He pretty much just needs to show that he won’t soak up club resources or drag other players away from performing at their best. I don’t think his performance on the park is in question, although his ability to get on the park is (and that part will be difficult to prove during the off-season).

I remember Fev was able to screw around all week and still kick 8 on the weekend.
Problem was he was dragging other players with him to screw around and they weren’t able to just show up and perform like he could. And he required a lot of off-field resources to manage him - resources that he, again, dragged away from other players who needed it more. Same-same-but-different. Hopefully Lij gets another shot and repays the faith.

I was just going through the draft and I just wanted to put it down, I kind of wish we did the last pick trade with the Lions a bit different.
Without knowing what we have planned next year in an 'allegedly' deeper draft or for our SSP selection, I think I would've preferred we traded our pick #38 with the Lions for their picks #43 and #50 (which became #47).
That way we could've picked up Byrne with #43, Ison with #45 and Ludowyke with #47.
I would feel a bit more comfortable with another tall forward on the list to develop with Curnow and Lemmey gone and as a back up to Harry.
Our tall forwards as it stands are Harry and HOK (who both are injury prone) with Reidy and Young being able to go forwards as targets, it just feels like we are 1 key tall too short at the club.
I'm sure the club has a plan this year with our ball movement and is the reason this deficit in the talls was not addressed, but I'm still a little uncomfortable with it given our history the last couple of years.
Maybe we have a back up in the mid season draft if one goes down or at least I hope we do.

If Elijah gets his act together then he will effectively become a 'new recruit' for us next year along with Jagga Smith.
Our potential 'new recruits' in 2026 could be Jagga, Elijah, Hayward, Ainsworth, Florent and Chesser and you could include Newman as well.
I think we might surprise a few people in 2026.

Hi Sidey agree to a certain extent and about KPP but if you look at the list with the addition of Dean Ison and Byrne -both Byrne and Dean just 18 we have a huge proportion of the list under 21 wilson x2 Campo Jagga Lord Moir Carroll Charleston Dean Byrne Ison HOF so perhaps knowing we are getting Cody next year they decided against another young player

I agree we have some really good depth now.
