Let’s hope so we stuffed up Newmans list stop last year

Derksen is a must given the number and size of our KPP

surely another game against Geelong is important to get used to his team mates and vice versa

What happens if Weiters doesn’t get get up for the first 2 games
who plays on Amarty
McDonald
and Charlie

Who plays on Lynch and Balta
Even if Weitering doesn’t get get get up does that mean we are throwing Dean to the wolves

We already have HOF Haynes not playing

Doesn’t make sense and selection last year was midboggling on occasions this is just damn stupid

When I look at our under 23 team, including Walker, then add players I expect to be around for next 5 years, like Walsh, Cerra, I think Austin has done wonders for this list. Plus I'm sure there's plenty of space in salary Cap to lure some good players, with TDK, SOS and Charlie gone, and William and Saad contracts ending this year.
Those under 23 will probably tear it up when they are playing for Sydney Stkilda or Geelong.

We are a feeder club right now who develop players for other clubs and pick up their fringe players they have to let go.

Future is bright for our youth but it won't be at Carlton

Only 51% of players who undergo ACL reconstruction return to play at least 10 matches in each of the two seasons following their surgery.

The risk of injuring the same or contralateral knee is high (30%), particularly in players under 21 years old (50% risk).

Does not bode well for HOF and Jagga.

Just saying!

True.

Could easily have both.

Maybe Lyon sniffing around at the praccy game was more than sniffing around.

I recall Lyon and SOS sitting in the stands all smug, sniffing around at a Carlton game, may have been preseason, with TDK sitting there with them.

Make me wonder why. Do those figures include the 1970's - 1990's? Came back too early? Inferior surgeons? Inferior rehab?
I wonder what the figure is for ACL recovery in the 2000's?

I remember Melb player David Schwarz cme back game 6 months after his op, and he broke down.
Scared for life since then.

Fingers crossed, he's been given a full year to recover and build up, and that may be the reason he will survive the cut.

Seriously, why?
WTF makes someone want to research that, and then tell us how it doesn't "bode well for HOF and Jagga"?
I just don't get it.
Maybe half don't play 10 matches the following season because they do the knee in the second half of the season?
Why can't you just allow people to enjoy the good moments while they're happening? I'm [REDACTED] if I understand posts like that.

The glass half full perspective is that 51% is more than half full!

Sorry .... I did a quick search. Not certain about the validity of those numbers. However, if they are relevant for today's footballers, then surely we should be concerned about the future of our young players who have had ACLs. There are a group of players in the AFL that have gone through on going acl problems and I remember a time when an ACL meant the end of your career. Hopefully HOF and Jagga will never have an ACL again. It is a worry that they have had the injury so early in their careers.

Didn't Joel Selwood have one before he was even drafted?

C4 says that E Hollands and Derksen will be officially on the list from today.

The AFL are just showing how disorganised they are and if they make 'unknown' dramatic changes to a system without enough lead time, that will also be a reflection of their unprofessionalism and we should challenge that.
F......the AFL.

The additional KP player to go with Elijah completes our list as best as possible for 2026.
Looking forward to see how Derksen goes.

If the AFL make changes to hinder our drafting of any player over the next 2 years - then we should not hesitate and take it to court. We won’t lose.

We need to finally get back to being a power house both on and off field. Enough of being meek and mild.

I mentioned this before but people scoffed. If we have a really good season and the AFL implements the proposal people have been talking about, then the Walker selection could get very difficult. I think the problem will be that the Walker bid has to come from Carlton's 1st round picks ONLY and if they don't get you enough points, then bad luck. We might need to trade up 2027 1st round picks to get another 1st rounder for 2026. The trouble is we will need a high first rounder. I am only saying this based on the rumours. I hope its not true.

Cmon BigBlueWave, you are very negative. Lets see how it all pans out first.

Club is trying to change things. Lets give them a chance before bagging everything.

Not bagging Carlton ... rather the AFL. Just considering the realities if everything we hear is true.

Incidently I have been extremely positive about us this year. I predict we will finish high on the ladder.
