Our tackling nd ball pressure around the midfield was very good tonight. Lord was leading the charge.
Boyd and Byrne made a difference after half time. Boyd must play.
Derksen belongs and Young was good.
Walsh's came into it after half time and showed everyone what he can do and we are all going to enjoy Jagga for a very long time.
Hollands boys and other old timers like Pitto very good.

Observations
We have beaten last years grand finalists in the last 2 weeks.
Jagga impressive
Reidy looks just as clumsy as Pitto
I think Moir is a bust
Hewett unusually fumbly and looked slow
Lord was good
Walsh nice game
Love Frank and Byrne
Elijah i thought was ordinary until he spent time on Half back
Harry Dean will be a very good player
Harry McKay is almost a decoy forward
Kemp should be better by now
Saad and Williams go missing for big chunks
Ainsworth Hayward and Florent are good additions
Cripps still our best.

Missing goals on siren in 1st 2nd and 3rd quarters

4 centre bounce ruck infringements
5 times called for not 15

Good in the contest good in the clearances and better at post clearances

Derkson handy
Young and Gov scare me

A win is a win

Didn't see Hayward in the second half at least - managed?

Any news on Hayward, seemed he had a slight limp after the game - no ice or bandages.

Fogarty had his thigh strapped.

I doubt we sign Derksen before the match . Probably wait until afterwards in case there's another injury that needs to be considered first before the deadline.

An injury to a small/ medium/ midfielder type we have cover for. Why wait for another KPD to go down because pulling the trigger. After all, its just insurance. We have plenty of depth in all areas other than KPF and KPD, with the latter our current concern and arguably the jumping ruck. Maybe being cautious incase a ruck gets injured???

Perhaps the club knows Haynes and Weitering are short term gaps, who will push out Derksen and Gov.

HOK isnt a guarantee to play AFL this year, and Motlop shouldn't be.

Still 8 days to make decision. I think they will add Derksen if he plays vs Geelong and plays another good game. Pressure on spots.

If the club did not add him before the game he would not have been allowed to play.

I dont care. Derksen over Lewis or McGovern. Dean over Lewis or McGovern.

Byrne over Fogarty.

Chesser stays in. Adds a big body, and run. Needs to gel.

Hok or Reidy? Dunno, probably Hok as he can rest forward.

We need to somehow get Flynn Young in.

Moir doesnt do enough. Is not desperate enough.

We need to march to the AFL office and talk about that stupid crossing the line bulltish. And yeh the injuries that it will cause.

Credit where its due - Pitto was a gun tonight. See what depth does. Reidy and Hok? We can play two ruckmen with 5 on the bench. But Hok can play forward which gives him the edge I reckon. But i like Reidy, although he needs to take some marks around the ground.

I like all the new additions.

It's very much a new look team & I like it. Thought the midfield played well.

Cats were missing a bunch of good players but we played with the intensity you want a week out from the season. Good hitout.

We’re not going to win the flag this year, but I think we’re all feeling a little better about the direction our club is heading after the past couple of weeks.

We could have 9 players making their Carlton debut in OR. Not ideal in some ways, but the new faces have given us a sugar hit. The test will come when we get into the May-July grind.

Weitering, Cerra, Carroll, Cowan, Haynes, Cottrell & Acres hopefully all back by round 3. And Newman slowly building.

If you didn’t know anything about Dean & Smith, would you pick them as kids who haven’t played a senior game yet? Don’t think so. :smoking:

Enough to like. The Jagga hype is about to reach fever pitch. Harry Dean some nice moments. Cooper Lord solid. I liked Frankie Evans effort. Looks like the late season 2025 Frankie is still around. There's something about young Talor Byrne. He has an impact. Would have been a perfect sub if it was still a thing. Campbell Chesser not bad either. And I liked Ollie Holland's game too.

From the senior guys, most a good hit out but not at full tilt yet, save for Walshy. More of this please.

A few concerns. Nothing new. Gov, Young and Fog are meh. Thought Williams was very ordinary, and not sure he is actuality best 23 if all fit and available. Saad worries me. And forward 50 delivery still leaves a lot to be desired.

A couple of good hit outs for the preseason against quality opposition. Now for the real stuff. Would love nothing more than to upset the Swans on their home turf and @#$%&! the Charlie wank fest right up

Saad and Gov should not play again unless we are completely decimated. Time is up for them.

Just a Practice Run.... Result means nothing to me....So happy to finish the game without any major injuries!

Mckay Goalless??? and we still manufactured 13 Goals? That's a step in the right direction.. Can we transfer it when the real stuff begin? or are we going to get a reality Check like we do every year?

Pros:

Strong intent to move the ball aggressively.
Controlled the opposition ball movement.
Tackling intensity was much better this week.
Jagga and Hewett excellent again.
Loved seeing Walsh bursting into space again.
Oli, Florent, Haywood and Ainsworth good again.
Elijah, Kemp and Lord much better this week.
Dean and Byrne showed some very encouraging signs.
Really pleased to Chessar shine.
Fitness permitting, Franky showed that he should be an automatic selection.
Derksen good again.

Cons:

Cripps a little fumbly.
Fogarty unseen this week.
Moir competed better, but still not getting involved enough.
Don't need Harry to kick a bag, but would like to have seen him contribute more on the scoreboard the last 2 weeks.

Jagga was really good running round out there - really gives us some dynamism. And it's a practice match so no need to kill yourself. And it's his first almost real senior game. But there was twice he didn't go back with the ball. If it was an older player we would call that hearing footsteps.

If Voss is smart he plays Flynn Young Ison Wilson and Carroll ( if both fit)
The Hollands boy both are overrated imo
What I want is selection integrity this year
Flynn Young should be playing next week based on today for Elijah at the very least

I missed the game. Obviously we got pumped by 20 goals reading this rubbish? No?

Those critiquing Young. What did he do wrong and did his opponent beat him?

Really is getting ridiculous.

Really liking how connected the boys appear to be and the positive vibe. Acknowledging good acts, the one percenters, picking your mate off the ground etc.

Very happy to see this after the disaster of last year.

Will make a big difference if we can keep this up for the whole year.

Like the players, Keogh is just in his Pre-season phase. He is just doing some run-throughs with his analytical, thought provoking 'prose'.

You know the quality stuff he turns out..............."He's shite, Their shite, Coach is shite, President is shite, the Club is totally shite!'

We haven't even got to Round 0 yet, and he has almost exhausted his full repertoire.

Down for another 100 pushups Keogh and finish it off with 5 x 400. I still think you are short of a gallop.

Regards Cazzesman

I think Walshy wanted the 8 years so he can hang around and watch the evolution of Jagga. Box seat.
