VFL team should have some depth soon with Chesser & Fog.
Chesser to keep growing, Fog to..

Happy to win, cannot fathom 2nd halves - they are a buzz kill even when we win.

I will take the win. Hopefully that's a monkey off the back moment and we can press on from here.
Jagga great first QTR. It's going to be fun watching him and Cody in the same midfield.
Our lack of composure in the last was very telling. Ainsworth bombing long.
Kemp out of defence in that last few minutes when he had a player outside him running.
Walsh with the last bomb to the spare in defence. Panic panic panic.
Starting to worry that Ollie is a bust. It's going to be really hard to forge an AFL career with disposal as bad
as his disposal.
Lewis Young.
Can't wait for Byrne to overtake Fog.

It’s a win. We are not in a position to take 4 points for granted. We are clearly struggling psychologically. Players need to take ugly win and work on areas of improvement.

Those attacking rambling Voss are just venting. Voss is a terrific communicator and a great person. Not sure whether he has tactical acumen and fear he may not survive but he has handled himself with a lot of grace under difficult circumstances.

I hope we can unlock our potential and build on this, but just coming on here to vent lacks awareness of where we are.

Yeah take the win….

that’s what to take from it….

to me…it’s like i’ve gone back to the house of
a young lass after the pub…I’d had a few…so i didn’t
put much thought into it…but just enough to
kick a goal…

but the next morning…i gather my clothing and
order a cab…(after asking my friend what her address was)…
and slinker out….

it’s a win…but now we move on….

kindest regards tommi

Hey Rosie…i still remember your curly strawberry
blonde hair….

We are in some serious trouble, and it's got nothing to do with talent, but above the shoulders.
The group is struggling mentally, and I'm not sure what the issue is, as only someone on the inside can identify, but until that is fixed, we will not win many games.
It's a very, very hard watch at this moment.

As soon as Fogarty missed that sitter you knew. They knew. Richmond knew.

He kicked it like he was scared.

He kicks that goal and I reckon it plays out a little differently.

Byrne hasn't played a game but he looks like the type of player who would thrive on the pressure.

Young was so embarrasing today that Voss was forced to send back both McGovern and Kemp to help him out!

I seriously hope the issue isn't fitness

If it's mental we can overcome it but if we're behind the comp in fitness we're in for a long season

He’s not much chop, but the umpires did Young dirty.

Voss yelling ice ice in the last 4 mins. This is just a negative nelly coach all round.

Gosh we are very very bad. Against a good team, we would have got slaughtered.

But take the 4 points. We all need a break next week. And regroup and restart.

Maybe this 4 points is a pressure lifter ?

Just wonder why we cant run out games. We are so stagnant and stop running in second halves. Just why.

You're asking the same questions as me. Hopefully someone with insight can give a thoughtful answer. Maybe those who attended open training sessions.

I didn't realise we were on a break already, I'd thought it was after round 2. Well. Now you've given me a sliver of hope that maybe we did really heavy loading ahead of the bye and hoped we'd have just enough run to eke out a win against the Tigers. Hopefully we're quicker and lighter across the ground from round 3. As negative as the mood is on here after the last two 2nd half performances, if we could play like we have in our Q1s for 2.5 or 3 quarters per game with a bit of an arm wrestle in the middle portion of the game, I think we'd be a lot happier. Because that Q1 style is not just more of the same, we are clearly running in numbers and chaining handpasses, working the corridor and making some errors but also reaping reward. Sidefx cited stats showing we are gaining many more metres by hand this year. So, let's see if we can up the dose against Melb & NMelb.

Liked at least in the first half:

McKay, Kemp and Gov impact forward.
Cripps was "sneaky" good - should have kicked the goal.
Walsh
Jaggs - flowering amazing
Dean will be very good for us
Very happy we didnt have either of Saad or Moir playing
Goal of the day - at that point, and ultimately probably the game - Will Hayward.

Second half

Ground hog day - wash rinse repeat. To me its not so much Voss, the major issue is fitness, they looked gassed - AGAIN.
This Team - we have sooooo many new players. Are they all superstars? No. Can they provide a role? yes. Have they all so far? no. Is that a coaching problem or is it too early to really judge - at least on the "new players" performances we have seen? I would say TBC.

Summary

That was hard to watch. The glaring reality for me is - we are a bottom half of the ladder team.
ALOT of work to do. On this game you take the 4 points and run like the wind. IF we dont win the next two games then.... looooong season. Even if we do it might be anyway. Perhaps the bye next week might be a blessing in disguise....... I hope so

Some light - Jagga and Lalor - both IMO BOGS for each team. 10-15 years for both clubs from these two (touch wood). Sit back and enjoy what will come.

That was extremely unpleasant.

I’m so despondent. We just shouldn’t be this bad. Only hung on because they didn’t kick straight. Any other half decent side and we get belted.

I hope Davies and Wright are fully aware how miles off we are. Skills, decision making, structure, mental strength, work rate, footy IQ all severely sub par.

We’ll get better as we learn to play a new style together including the new faces.

A win is 4 points - doesn’t matter how you get them sometimes
