Were turning into a North Melbourne where winning each game is life or death.
If the powers to be forget about losing and winning and concentrate on just building platforms this club will be in a healthier state in 3 years than resembling North Melbourne.

If the boy isn't ready then he isn't ready. The first 2 years are really only meant to be developing years.

And a pre season NAB Cup game is a great opportunity for a player to develop.

If Pagan is under instructions to go for the cash again, then there's probably only a couple of spots for the untried youngsters. He's probably not in competition with Hartlett or Setanta for a spot, but it may have been between him and Blackers for a run. Blackers has been quite impressive so far in the pre-season, and is deserving of his chance.

No need to start worrying about Russell yet.

No way were they playing for cash last night...Agree with blackers...

It is dissapointing......but all the youngsters that played have something special about them...

Jordan isn't gifted with elite talent, he is more or less a hard worker...

So are the othere guys who played, but they got the nod ahead of him because they are more talented...

Look I don't really know much about him but if he is down on confidence because he is playing a role he is unfamiliar with then he needs to stop being a sook and suick it up. If everyone recruited to a club played only in positions they were familiar with the clubs would be totally screwed.

If JR is resisting or struggling with flexibility or adaptability then he is not ready for a game. The deal for tall-ish utility types is that you need to be adaptable to play forward/back/on-ball whatever the team requires of you.

From what I can tell he is a very talented player. But I can also see that Pagan regards others as more deserving of a chance to prove themselves. Mutrphy, Hartlett and Blackwell all did just that last night.

And did you see how confident and authoritative Simpson was last night? He didn't exactly get an armchair ride into the seniors either did he?

The reports on CSC say JR was BOG for the BA, so hopefully we'll see him next week at PP on the HBF

Well he played maybe 45mins all up. Picked up probably 5-6 kicks, only one clanger the rest to his target or advantage, took a strong pack mark across half back and added dash from the backline at one point swopping on a loose ball and going for a run.

I was impressed. Hopefully Dennis finally realises some players just excel at a higher level if you let them play there natural games.

really liked jordan's work today ..

looks a good size now, handles the ball well and, importantly, looks like he is a good kick !! ..

should see alot more from him this season .. not sure where he'll play .. but a back flank looks good to me

definitely one of the few positives to show up today

i thought bower and jackson were the others to show something

.. go blues ..

Jackson didn't get much game time but he didn't look out of place. Russell hit his targets which was good and he took a terrific pack mark at CHB. Bower should have been brought on earlier and had a great run along the Pratt wing, but just like Walker he doesn't have anything decent to kick to up forward and turned it over.
