Mark taken by McLaren directly infront right before the siren.. kicks the goal

Half Time
Blues 4.7.31
Cats 6.3.39

AFL site is still stuck in the first quarter

Same story as usual........uncontested possessions for the cats coming out of defence, and when going forward

Who is on Kelly?

Where would we be without Lappin, setting up all the play out of defence - but too often we lack creativity going forward and are still just bombing it up the wing, so easy for the defenders to thump it away

It was good so see both Blackwell and Murphy in the middle at one stage. Quite un-Pagan like...

I hope Setanta can hold it together, and not get down on himself about his kicking - he's playing his third game of senior AFL football and he's playing bloody well.

De Luca has been an interesting one. With his size and athleticism, he's really had an impact (and I have no doubt they'll persevere with him), but his hands in the marking contest have been poor again. He must have fumbled or juggled about 5 or 6 marks.

At least he's getting into space and position to contest the ball. I hope they keep working him super hard on his marking.

Like lost year, not a lot of defensive pressure in midfield. Whitnall looked great when we flooded and he could zone off. But I thought he struggled when there was space, and his opponent could lead him to the ball.

Setanta has been very impressive. Waite has been good. Murphy has looked at home. French has been good. Walker has done a terrific job on Ablett so far (although it'd be nice to see him win a bit more ball).

Like to see more defensive pressure from Scotland, Houlihan and some of the other midfielders. I thought when Simpson and Carrazzo came on, we started to match them in midfield again, and get back on top (even if not on the scoreboard).

Skinny b.o.g. by a mile so far. Fish has been fantastic as well. Midfielders need to lift.

I missed Malouf at half time - what did he have to say? Another thing - is Scotland on the field?

Good effort that quarter in general play - just cannot convert. Promising signs so I am encouraged! Having said that, Geelong have many players out so some perspective needed.
