Like he has done with Brisbane previously, he’s left behind a broken club and driven the few talented players we have out to greener pastures.
This resonates with me. Been thinking about this since I read it earlier.
He's left me with broken dreams that's for sure, not sure if we are a broken club. The potential for a better coach to keep the momentum going in 2nd halves seems what is missing. Maybe him leaving opened the door for someone to top up and go again. I hope so.
I believe in at least 20 of our players as the foundation of the future; but that's only 20 of 45. Its obvious SOS and Charlie didn't want to play for him anymore. Not sure how much that hurts, or Vossy's Game Plan and lack of tactical nous.
But he really likes a gamble, and he's a stubborn alpha male; a bull. He put all his chips in that the 3 headed monster Fev Clark & Browny would be fed by greats in their last years of footy Charman, Power, Black, McGrath, Clarke, Sherman, Adcock, Rischitelli, Rockliff, in the hope they would deliver a Flag. They may have done so if Fev didn't go off the rails. We will never know.
Bottom line Vossy is a risk taker, and you could argue its "all or nothing" from Voss.
Its still too early to judge if we are in fact broken, but next year we will know whether we were a broken club when Voss left, or we emancipated ourselves from Voss and played to our potential (over 4 quarters instead of 2).
He's gone.
