For all those too young to remember or too old to remember.

The Glory days were those years when our magnificently proud football team lost every Practise game by hundreds of points.

Problem is they didn't try coz they didn't need to.

I want to read the spin ( read B.S.) that you people put on how well they did today in stifling heat when they are getting creamed at half time.

When will you realise that you need to look at all 16 clubs with the same glasses and we are just so far off the pack that your Messiah -Murphy who didn't win the game for us last week, ( YOU ALL TOLD ME HE'D BE THE DIFFERENCE!)
- might just need a few years to mature = Will not be the difference for some time. READ there will be no real difference.

So do you start hoping we lose from now or wait until April 2 to begin barracking foir the opposition.

I challenge you to support an arguement of why you attend games hoping the other team will win and how you think we will improve this year.

CASHI , just try to find a point of view

Simply put, I don't think we'll be much good this year. Let's face it, we finished 16th last year with very few injuries. We've only just gotten back in the draft, so these kids won't have much of an impact (unless they're freaks) for a couple more seasons yet.

But does that mean I have to mope around all season... actually, before the season even starts... bemoaning the fact?

No. It's actually possible to know, deep in your soul, that we'll struggle for a while yet... but still maintain a positive and somewhat irrational belief that maybe, just maybe, we'll surprise a few people.

Head says we won't. Heart says we probably won't. But why feel more miserable than is strictly necessary? It's not good for the soul, and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

SHHH, I'm not sure quite what you want people to do? Should Talking Carlton replace 'proud player partner of paul bower. join the bandwagon!' with 'Don't be under any illusion. We're in for a shithouse 2006.'

Should no-one try to get any joy from the club? Should people not even try to kid themselves that we'll win 10 games and sneak into the eight, because doing so makes them happy?

If you want cold-hearted realism, maybe you should read the business sections of the newspaper. This is a supporter's forum, and supporters don't thrive on rationality.

If we did, we wouldn't buy memberships or go to training or become player partners or convince our kids to follow the Blues or hate Collingwood or get misty-eyed when we hear the song.

Support for the club comes from the heart, not the head. I suggest you accept that fact, and let people be irrationally happy if that's what gets them through the day.

John M - i couldn't of put it better myself :!:

SHHH - just because you are a manic depressant doesn't mean that the next of us can't be positive with the new kids on the block.

If you won't be positive, why are you still a member?
Why did you get up at 5am this morning and queue up for Afl reserved seats?

Optimism is the ONLY thing that we have!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you think there is no future TAKE UP GOLF

is this point of view good enough for you  :x

There are some people who only follow a football team when it's doing well. When it isn't doing well they find something else to occupy their time.

There are other people who follow a football team through thick and thin.

Absolutely !

Of course there were few positives today but I'm sure most here would say it was good to see Walker back himself and be well and truly our best today. Theres 1 positive for you. :)

Some people are just sick and tired of watching their team lose week after week. That's reasonable.

What isn't though shhh is your criticism of posters who choose to be positive. It seems your here just to stir the pot like CG and others similar...

Perhaps you should take your own advice and if you haven't got anthing constructive to say, shut up!

Why did you get up at 5am this morning and queue up for Afl reserved seats?[quote="cashi"] Where do you get your seats from?

and to explain why I buy a membership and why I complain
I pay so I have a right to be a realist.
and the reality is that we think we are better than St Kilda of the 80's and the truth is that we will possibly not be here in 5 years time as we will be put out of business by the AFL. We all crowed loudly when the AFL were going to get rid of some clubs. OURS MUST BE ON THE AGENDA

OUR KIDS - are young, need to step up, can get better.
NO one states that our kids are any bloody good or have some ability.

St Kilda have a young list as does Hawthorn.
Look at those 2 sides.

Many of their kids have skill!
and you can see it.

As the posters who witnessed todays debacle have said. Walker will be better for the run. It's his 3rd year. Shouldn't he have emerged a little?

Yeah im sick of watching my team lose every week but after years of poor list managment, salary cap breaches what do you expect...... We all have to ride the storm and support this club

We need stability and at the moment...... and leadership we all can become leaders by showing support and rallying behind this club

Who gives a shit its a practive match

If we get thrashed in a practice match i couldnt care less

If we get thrashed in a NAB i would be dissapointed but then again again not the main stuff

If we get thrashed in home and away i ask more questions and hope they learn from it and turn it around

Today was a practice match ... last week Port got smashed .... i dont give a shit if we got done in a practice Match .. hopefully some guys got a run and there was experimenting

Shhh you base the club not being around in 5 years on the loss of a practice match i just pity how this match made such an impact on you lol

Relax its a practice game..kids got some experience and the coach found out a bit more about his players....mission accomplished...the result doesnt matter. The only downer is the short term thinkers who cant see the process takes time and jump off the club by not buying a membership.

I think we have some great young talent even with our rookies..Ryan Jackson is a player we can get excited about and Craig Flint appears a old fashioned footballer who could make the grade and Aisake has shown amazing skills for a bloke with no background in the game...we are down but at least we now have hope with our young talent...

No I don't
this was written before today's disaster.
I'm just sick of reading threads about how well we are doing.
We aren't
as a club
Financially - very ill
Listed Players - Not even worth rating as ill.
Young ones - No where near as skilled as we need them.
