I'd rather write bad poetry - though how an ignornat bufoon as youself could possiubly know - than engage in systematic war mongering hding behind a so called navy blue heart for a glimpse at self redemption. Its not your 'knowledge' I worry about, its your incessant yabbering. But hey, all prophets believe they are the only 'visonaries'. Wonder how kmany of them they've had at St Kilda the last 20 odd years? HGmm probably one or two every 3 years.

How was Kade Simpson travelling at the start of his second year on our list?

That's a good analogy methinks.

If a recall, it was right about this time that Simmo played the first of his zero possession games (from the 5 mins Denis game him on ground). Half of TBV board promptly called for his delisting in spite of him being one of the only youngsters on our list with decent foot skills and pace.

Fast forward two years and he's still one of the only youngsters on our list with decent foot skills and pace, and probably the only one who you could say has the instinct to use that pace to run lines and take on his opponent. He was good against Geelong, and I believe, one of the few who played alright against Port. He could still use a few extra kilos but all in all he looks primed for a big season. I wish we had two of him, but people were continuing to call for his delisting as late as mid way through last season when he was finally adjusting to the pace of the seniors and starting to make an impact.

The moral of the story is these kids take time. Some of them will take time and still not make the grade because ultimately they don't have the the poise necessary to play at the elite level even after they've spent four years getting their bodies and skills right. They are disappointing and can be deservedly criticised. But why you would lay into a 19 year old in his second season who actually has the attributes we need - pace, foot skills and poise when he has the ball, is beyond me.

We're starting to get a small group of young players who have that elusive football element of poise at the moment. Muprhy, Blackwell, Hartlett and JR. Hopefully we can add a few more names to that list by the end of the season. That's the one one thing that gives me confidence that we are actually on the way up again, even though we have a ways to go yet. But we need to get behind these kids while they battle through this season.

You mean you would rather right poetry than be a bufoon just like me.. but you write bad poetry dannyboy.... very bad poetry and on top of that youre an ignorant buffoon just like me... but you still write terrible poetry...

Now hit me with one about the leaves falling arouynd my feet making pretty colours as i walk through the park breathing in the autumn air.. on my way to the footy... to watch yet another 100 point loss... and no gameplan.. by a club thats going backwards at a million miles an hour.. but all we be good.. in spring.. (if not spring next year.. or the year after... ) .. but in the mean time dont the autumn leaves make pretty clolours around our feet.. as we have another pot and toss the money on the counter telling them man he can keep the change...

I like reading danny's poems and what was this thread about? Oh yeah....I like Jordan Russell. He showed good signs on Saturday, slowly but surely he is getting ready for the Big Show.

Dannyboy and Synbad, from one extreme to the other.

I think really, dannyboy, Synbad has a point that many Carlton supporters would agree with. We are "sick" and we need to be treated. People like you on this site, do lift spirits with positivity but there is a time for "commonsense" to come into place.

Dannyboy, you have to accept that not everyone is interested in sugar coating and telling themeselves positive things when things aren't that way. Synbad and I disagree on things a bit but the way the club is going now is unacceptable, our performances on the field and the finances.

I'm stuck somewhere in the middle of an optimist and pessimist. Yes, I vent my frustrations when we are going shit, like just after the insipid display against Port. But it's not all doom and gloom.

Temporarily, though it is doom and gloom (from what i can see). We just seem to be getting worse each year and that shouldn't be happening. Pagan seems to have completely lost his way.

I am only just starting to really question the direction we are headed under Pagan

And perhaps the board would need to offer a settlement for pagan by the end of the year if there are no changes and improvement. For Eg. His use of Walker ATM is baffling considering his potential. He shopuld be let loose more often during the year as should much of our young talent.

Denis, It's time to seriously lift your game, insipid losses are becoming accepted. That's woeful! Something must be done in the coming weeks.

and you are missing the point. I have no problem with reality. People think we are shit. we are. people think denis is no good, they have been saying that for the past three years (and they may be right, I have no problem with that either (though I do have a different opinion) people want board change - fine vote, run etc - as i said elsewhere (and believe) democracy only works if we have choice, so i am rapt new people are standing.

I am worried about the club, many of us are - okay all of us, again not an issue.

My point, agenda, barrow - call it what you will, is that everyone is honest about their changes in opinions, reasons etc. otherwise this becomes a circus of the lowest order.

Say for example, Pagan stole your favourite garden gnome, reveal this fact befoire bagging the crap out of him so we can understand where you are coming from.

that's all.

I had the same issue during the famous TBV debacle. Just because gobaggers crashed doesn't mean some of his concerns were not valid. It really isn't a black and white world.

for example - some of my poems may be crap, others may not be, its not an all or nothing - read the latest issue of Eureka Street, i think a good one of mine is in there.

Its all about

perspective

reasoning

and

agendas

or barrows....

and sunflowers God I love sunflowers. But not fleas. I detest fleas. they bite because they need blood. Sunflowers simply soak up the light.

What's the go with dissing danny's poetry?

People should be pleased there's someone with a creative slant posting on here. Creative writing about football is always a joy to read and to slag off someone for having the balls to put themselves out there creatively shows no class at all.

Bad poetry board!!!!!

I think when dannyboy points the finger at me and says i have agendas.. (obviously somehow selfish) for shouting out against what i think is going from bad to worse... and therefore having a go at my contrnt in this place .. i will do the same back

 You obviously don't read much of what's been written here over the years.

Having a go at danny's poetry and saying how bad it is is like having a go at someone's training report and saying how bad it is.

Seriously lacks class.

Cut it out children...it's bad enough I have to read all the doom and gloom before the season has even started without you going tit-for-tat with your D grade repartee.

You're sailing a very lonely boat on this one sailorman. I doubt there's anyone else other than Sheiky Baby on this site who considers danny's stuff to be bad.

You make it sound like a bad thing. danny is a great writer, probably the best "Carlton" writer in Australia.
