Spoke to Maxwell Gratton the other day about Carlton and his involvement with John Elliott etc...these are some things he had to say....

* Says all AFL teams are going over the salary cap and Carlton were targeted... Also adding that what Essendon* had done was worse and instead they got a slap on the wrist... Also that Salary Cap checks are not done on routine and numerous clubs get away with it.

* All John Elliott done, he did for the good of the club... Also that the AFL's main agenda was getting rid of John Elliott.

* Says Demitriou is a nasty piece of work also not fond of some posters on the Carlton message boards claiming they have written some pretty "nasty" stuff about him.

* Optus Oval is a terrific ground and Telstra Dome is like going to watch a basketball match.

* Says that Craig Bradley and Silvagni shut their mouths and not said anything to Collo about player payment details, the club would have gotten away with the draft penalties. Not a huge fan of collo either....

I had a chat and listened but I assure you, everything that was said was taken with a grain of salt!

If the AFL were out to get rid of Elliott and Carlton were targetted (both likely) then wouldn't they have been able to do it regardless of whether SOS and Braddles had shut their mouths?
