I'm not argueing this point what I am saying is to a certain extent Allison is correct . Kouta has changed the way we look at football.

No person in the last 20 or so years has had an effect on the way the games is played than kouta. - Whats Walker going to be the next Kouta they all said when they recruited him

Everybody is looking for Kouta clones .

It is why you will never see another Greg williams - they want a Athelete first and they think they can teach them the skills in a few short years.

Kouta has changed the game.

Despite what he is doing now

Here we go again!! David Allison negotiating through the Media!! I hope that Kouta is the only player that this prick still manages on our list. I can't remember a single occasion that he has come out with anything positive to say on players contracts, or the club. I'll be glad to see the day when David Arseholison has no association with the club.!! (I really don't like the turd!!)

We have been trying to get Kouta to take a pay cut for the last 3 years.
This is a way for Dave to give us more bad publicity and stop the pressure .
Kouta knows whats going on....

I think Dave Allison is off with the fairies. Kouta does not generate the money for the club that he used to. He is no longer the face of our club & neither he should be. Kids want to be Fevola now. He should never have retained the captaincy this year IMO.

Carlton should be marketing the young guys as the face of the club (they have started this with Murphy & to a lesser degree, Walker & Waite).

Now I love Kouta & always will, but it's not for the leadership (term used loosely) he has displayed over the last few years & it's certainly not for the way he has played his game the last few years either (a B&F in a wooden spoon year is nothing to cheer about IMO - even Corey McKernan managed that), it's for how he changed the game back in 99 & 2000. That's how I will remember him when he retires.

There was no need for Collo to highlight it Monday.
It just causes angst with the player and his manager.

This is the final year, whether Kouta takes another pay cut or not isnt going to secure us another player now.
Just let it slide and look to the future.

I'm well past us portaying ourselves as downtrodden victims in the press.
The sooner we get someone positive and creative doing our press conferences, the better.

(And no, this is not an anti Collo statement, I'm happy for Collo to be President but please, lets get a better option doing our media releases and conferences)

As a so called captain and leader of the club Kouta should have revisted his contract terms.
The club has done more for him then what he has ever done for the club.

That contract by JE was the final nail that killed us

It's a smokescreen BV. Collo is feeling the pinch so he tries to divert some of that onto our captain. Classy bloke our Prez.

Kouta has taken 2 substantial pay cuts over the past 4 years, so some-one is telling porky pies here, and I'm pretty sure it's not me.

I cant agree The Game.

Collo has lots of deficiencies but he never backs away from a contest.
This was purely our President trying to be positive but lacking the media savvy to see it through.
If Eddie Maguire as running that press conference, the media would have walked out the door knowing we had a comprehensive plan in place and Carlton was the up and comer.

We just lack the ability to portay ourselves in a positive light.

Kouta has never taken a pay cut.. he has taken pay defferments.
People said and allowed us to believe he had.. but he hasnt. In fact he has allowed this to extend his contracts for money.

You dont tell porky pies surrey.. you just have no idea.

How can he have taken a pay cut and hes on over a million??? :?

Synbad, Kouta has taken two paycuts in previous years.
He is on 1mill (not over as you like to exagerate) this year because the paycut is not affected in this years salary. Collo wants him to take another pay cut for this year just like previous.

I think he has done enough for our club and the club has done enough for him, so why don't we just leave it alone and move on.

The only thing it does is, create more negative vibe within and outside. Do we learn nothing.

Bringing up Kouta's contract again isn't trying to be positive, he is just making excuses. You would never here Bulldogs president Smorgan say things like that about his players in public. I wish he barracked for Carlton, he's the type of guy we need.

Dave Allison is well known to be an alcoholic who would happily bring our club to it's knees. cauliflower!!

However Collo whinging about Koutas contract is not on either...

The Quicksand seems to be getting deeper everyday....

There also doesnt seem to be much of a chance that we will have Kouta on our list next year.....maybe Sheeds will sign him up?

Doesn't that show how piss weak Elliot was in agreeing to his terms.
Only Carlton suffered from the Dave Allison disease

And the basis of your contention is what?

Source of your apparent knowledge of his contract?......

Methinks you have no idea!

I'm happy to kick in for a case of Scotch to be delivered straight to this pricks door.

(I'm sure Dan Murphy will give us a good deal).

There was a statement from the club in 2003 saying ALL senior players accepted a paycut.
