Don't give me that shit! What are you suggesting? That i think Kouta deserves more than the starving kids in Africa?

How did kids in Africa even get into this discussion?

We are talking about a player that is 100% about the Carlton Football club yet is getting shit hung on him by pissweak supporters!

What in the hell does Kouta, The CFC, or my god-damn money have to do with kids in Africa.

Keep to the subject and stop tossing up crap!

Exactly! Hey, I don't understand it either.... Some people just need to find a scapegoat to vent all their frustrations at....

Don't worry about Synners comment about starving kids... The guy can really crap on at times as you can propably tell!

I've tried to explain many times Kouta's value to the side.... his work ethic and love for the guernsey... but then out comes the bullshit talk about what m,oney he is on... etc...

A contract is a contract! BTW, John Elliott signed him up for that ludicrous amount anyway and I tell you what... his value at the time was very close to 1 million a year if you remember his superstar year in 2000.

The lack of respect to our clubs greats by some of these supporters really @#$%&! iritates me! For eg... Instead of acknowledging the great things these players have done for the club... Also when Silvagni and Bradley offered to return to Carlton in 2003 for base payments....

Along we have the same @#$%&! story, synbad, as if you haven't droned on enough with that garbage!!

Ryan, Kouta has been a champion player for carlton and uphelp himself in a very respectful and dignified manner. Now, he may not be the best AFL captain but he tries his hardest... And so the guy is a little "quiet", we turn feral on him.

Kouta could win a brownlow this year and we would be hearing the same old shit, different smell. It's @#$%&! pathetic!

So the only reason you'd donate money to a starving child in Africa is to win an argument on an Internet Bulletin Board? That's real big of you mate...actually I think you look very closely about whats important in this world...

WHO CARES?????????????????????????

We're not talking about kids in Africa FFS - we are talking about a legend of the CFC who has given his all yet because we can't accept that there are going to be tough times ahead, some piss weak supporters choose to instead lay the blame on Kouta!

So if Kouta retires at the end of the season, giving us a million free ($500k actually as half of it doesn't even count in the cap because of the veterens rule) what's gonna change...................Nuthin!

Nuthin will change! We'll get worse for not having him in the side. And if you think just because we have another $1million free to spend we're gonna grab two of the biggest AFL stars and entice them to Carlton.....................................think of this - WE AIN'T THE MOST ATTRACTIVE CLUB IN THE LEAUGE AT THE MOMENT!

If you wanna argue what i said above, fine - argue away.................................................BUT WHAT IN THE @#$%&! DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH KIDS IN AFRICA, THE PRICE OF MILK IN CHINA OR THE COST OF A flower BUS TICKET IN HELSINKI???????????

You're best to ignore his sh*t ryan2000. In fact when he brings up crap like this, it's a sign he cannot defeat you on the cold hard facts of the argument itself. Classic diversion strategy!!!!!!!

All this in a pissweak club with probably half a dozen or so players who give a damn.

Emphasis on Ryan2000's final point. If Kouta had a decent team around him, he'd undoubtedly have gone down as one of the greatest players ever. And don't give me that sh*t that it's Kouta's fault that he plays in a poor team. The blame rests with Parkin, Brittain, Elliott & our recruiting team of 1999-2003 who lived for the day without showing suitable regard for the future.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Luca. The eyes are painted on. Go and ask Pagan or any Carlton player Kouta's importance to the club....

The man Synbad is very set in his ways, won't look at other points of view and doesn't look at facts. Don't know if this was mentioned but Kouta was No.1 in hardball gets last year also!

So what the @#$%&! are you going on about Synbad! Can you please for one second, look at Kouta for the player he is and his contribution rather than the $$$ he recieves.

Look at the facts!! If we were in the finals, you would have nothing to complain about.... You would still find something though, im sure of that!

I'm glad some people are defending kouta as we should, as he has been a pivotal important player for us on the field and upheld himself in a positive manner off it despite being treated relatively harshly from Collo with some of his comments.

Luca, have you heard his vitriol directed towards Craig Bradley, Steve Kernahan even Brett Ratten amongst others..... Some more scapegoats of Synners....

Dave Allison rejects Carltons offer and signs Kouta up with the Magpies.
Or Essendon*? Or Brisbane? Or Sydney? Or West Coast? Or any other team that had a list that had some talent! Nobody would be arguing the price of Kouta if that were happening.

Chris Judd is a brilliant player - but it helps when he's got the likes of Cousins/Kerr/Cox & Fletcher helping him out.

I couldnt care about Koutas contract anymore.
He's getting what he is and it will expire this year.

But dont defend Koutas contract and begrudge the fact he has no support.
The reason he has no Cox or Fletcher or Kerr to support him is simple.
We cant afford it.
He is probably earning more than Cousins, Fletcher and Cox together.
If one of your players earns 15% of your TPP, its pretty simple that 37 others will have to split 85%.

And dont kid yourself that Essendon*, Collingwood or anyone else would have paid Kouta that, we're the only ones stupid enough.

I dont begrudge Kouta his money anymore but when he hit the club for the money, he understood that there was less money to assemble a support cast.
That was his decision.

Do you really think that Kouta asked for that sum of money?

I don't, as he has Allison to represent him to do that stuff, so that he can concentrate on what he's good at and that's playing footy.

I think it was his manager, most likely working autonomously, trying to make a sale, whilst Kouta was on the track. That's what sales people do; try to earn as much commission as they can. He's the one who doesn't care what % of the team's TPP he can negotiate, not Kouta. I bet if Allison could have got 50% of Carlton's TPP he would have. He didn't care what effect it would have had on the Carlton balance sheets let alone Kouta.

When Kouta was offered the contract he was, I bet he was excited, and so was I and every other Carlton supporter I know. He should have been because it was with the club's blessing....Elliot was bragging about signing the best in the land to Carlton for 5 years. So was I.

It's Allison's inability to appreciate what he has in this client, a quiet achiever who goes about his business with no silly commentary ( re his salary). Therefore, I would expect Allison to go about representing Kouta in the same manner; "quietly",appreciatively, without attracting silly headlines and adverse publicity to the CFC and to his client. And what about showing some appreciation to Carlton for making such a commission paid to him possible in the first place.

IMO, Collins, but moreso Allison are the real agitators that have put this salary scrutiny back on the agenda, and as a result Kouta the footballer is the one who is damaged in the process. Collins is just pointing out all the negative facts for our current situation without mentioning names (I hope he is foxing, or he's a goose), but it was Allison who is the goose for unnecassarily putting his client in the spotlight.

Long Live Kouta.

Piss off Allison.

I've had enough of this thread.

I hope Kouta has a stellar year, this year, and the next...leading our revival as an AFL powerhouse!!

"...Another clearance in the centre by Kouta, handballs to Stevens. Steven's handball to Simpson, flying down the wing, takes one bounce, two and stabs a beautifully weighted pass to the leading Fisher....Fisher doesn't waste anytime and centres a pass to the leading Fevola and hits him on the chest. ...lines up 35 mteres in front, kicks...... Goooaaaaaaaallllllllll!!!!!!!"

Who says its vitriol? In your opinion it might be, but there are others besides Synbad who are questioning Sticks position on the board

Effes (Or Michael) it's Synners attitude to Sticks as a player and leader, not board member status that luca and I aren't really impressed with.

By all means, if he hasn't well enough on the board he deserves to be questioned like anyone but it's when he is shown little respect as player or leader then it becomes ridiculous.

The guy is our longest serving most influential captain weve ever had. He bleeds Carlton for flowers sake and it's a bullshit Carlton cancer that some supporters are so fickle that we love them during the good times and spit on them when the shit times happen.

That's whats pathetic and that's what's being questioned!!

Not that Sticks is immune from criticism as a board member....

If I employ someone to represent me, their actions are my responsibility[/b].

not sure where you are coming from here No1? Obviously I must have missed it, because I thought Synbad (and others) have only questioned Sticks value as a board member. Especially as he was a board member during the end of Jack's reign, and he was still very close to a lot of the players ie they would know him as a fellow player and friend.

I can't remember him criticising him as a player or leader. Except maybe that he is still too close to the players to put make tough decisions. Let's face it, it would be incredibly hard to do when they are your mates.
