I'm tipping an upset.

If Carlton win it will be an upset.

If Melbourne win, I'll be upset.

I hope we have a decent game, been some positives and negatives in the pre-season. Melbourne are a good side, it will be a tough game to win, but nothing is impossible. I honestly couldn't care less if we won or not as long as we show improvement, but a win will be a bonus no doubt.

Regardless of what the score is we will be chanting till we lose our voices. We have a few beauties to test out, listen out for us at the game.

Looks like Rivers will play afterall.

It is a smokescreen, Rivers will not play.

Best thing about this article is Carlton's position on the ladder. Look on the right hand side.

I'm a bit of a fan forum slut - it's my pathetic vice. So I have seen most varieties and without doubt the Carlton ones are the best and most informed. Therefore you reap what you sow. I always found TBV a good read (is it up again?) and now TC. A good Demon mate posts at CSC and reports a similar experience - mature balanced discussion.

Dockerland is a quirky place, lot's of in-jokes I don't get but some pretty amusing stuff. The mod is a bit heavy handed tho, don't try to mention the word Malthouse in any favourable context. Like "the Dockers have built a good list and need a coach with proven ability to deliver a flag from that position." (BTW post flag I would drop MM like a hot potato, he is a list destroyer).

Now back to the action at hand - we'll rip you a new one to match 88, 94 and 00. Look on the bright side on that trend you are due back in the finals this year!

I think we will lose by 18-22 points...

But not saying we will. I really hope we can get over the line... I'm sick of any type of defeat and can't wait for that winning feeling to return...

Just hoping to see some real promise from the young kids this year...

My prediction,..

Our backs will get a caning from the umps over the 'holding' rule. Fev will whinge after the first infringement goes against him and get nothing for the rest of the day. Melbourne will be underdone but still come away with a 6 goal win.

Thanks Old 55. Good tip about not mentioning Malthouse on the Dockers' sites!
Just please don't mention 2000 again - I was at the game and am still puzzled as to how we lost :?

Yes Linus - if you've come for good news, then you are in the wrong place. Come back in about five years, by that stage we should have got rid of:

the fat and overpaid Whitnall
the coach who thinks football is played the same way it was in the '90's
the captain who just wants to bleed the team dry and won't lead by example
Stevens - won't go in for the hard ball
most of the board - stuck in the early 90's with Collo
Luke Power (who surely won't knock back our overtures next time)
Lappin, who only plays for himself
Whichever ones of Russell, Hartlett, Blackwell, Bryan, Murphy, Kennedy, Bower and Edwards fail to prove in 20 games that they will be world-beaters
Walker - cause he'll only be able to tag
Campo - we'd love to give him the flick for a second time, plus he's a downhill skiier
Daniher - cause he's a nice bloke
Saddington and McLaren - cause they're not Luke Power

Don't worry though Linus.... I'm sure that you'll still have a club to support after all of this has happened. Of course, it might be in the VFL, but don't worry.

Of course though, if you'd like to make some positive contributions then I think a few of us around here would be more than happy - welcome to TC!

GOSH!

I never try to look at it from that point of view, I just support the boys through thick and thin and hope for the best.

I just want to see the Boys try their hardest and to see us improve, for the next 3 years I will be happy with that, but then .............................look out 'cause Linus get mad!!!!!!

I just wanna stick it up those negative buggers!

GO BLUES!!

Wait until you start reading the posts this year that blame Pagan and the team for winning instead of finishing bottom for the top draft pick, Linus. Aaaahhh, tanking is such a wonderful thing ...

Blues by 15 points. If you can't be optimistic before round one, when can you :!:

You know there are reasons why were last .. on and off the field...

Its not because were a well oiled swiss watch...

In all honesty I expect us to keep with the Demons for the 1st half, then one of the usual suspects will tear us a new one. Green, Robertson or Miller.
The number of times I've seen Carlton appear to be beaten by a single player makes me sad.
