congrats Kouta. One player that I can say I've watched from the beginning, I remember seeing him play in the under 19's!! He will always be one of my all time favourite players, simply because he was unstoppable. Nothing was better than going to the footy when we were flogging everyone & walking into the grounds asking 'how much are we going to win by this week?' And Kouta at his best was just amazing..

Well done Kouta!

Favourite game was in 2000 vs North
39 disposals
12 marks?
5 goals

and that was with half the game matched up on Carey.

One of the best individual games I have seen by anyone.

Amen to that Scott - my favourite Kouta game too. Can remember one passage of play when he helped out in the backline then won it out of the centre and then took a big mark and kicked a goal. He was on another level that day.

So brief, so lacking in sharp punches and digs!

i loved his pass to ang against brissie at the gabba.

he played a great game and kicked three goals including one monster from well outside 50 which sailed into the stands.

i'm going to enjoy watching teams trying to man him up as he rests in the FP this season.

i reckon he will kick 30 odd goals this year

No my luck in the ticket ballot delivered there. We just watched the other MCC members who thought they'd get a good deal and laughed. :)

So interested in the future that you bag his contract and you will quote this line and use it as a platform to whinge about it, and the direction of the club some more?

I was actually congratulating you on putting your soapbox away and just flat out congratulating Kouta, but like I would bother with telling you that straight up...

I wish he was 25 again too. :(

Does anyone have a picture of that almost-mark-of-the-century from the 2000 game at Subi?

Congrats Kouta..
While Kouta had many fantastic game winning moments, I recall his first game at OO, can't remember against who. Remember seeing this tall bloke, muscles galore, bushy curly hair and eyebrows to match. Actually looked out of place, because of his physique compared to other players out there. Anyway, remember his first wobbly goal that day like it was yesterday.

Another early memory of Kouta was at VFL park, he was running full pace towards the pocket and a normal player would scoop the ball up, no, not Kouta, to put his hand over the top the ball and pick it up at full pace had the crowd buzzing...

Lets hope your 250th game is a winning game...

That first game was against Adelaide. I still remember Sticks embracing him after that goal and Bruce McAvaney screaming out "WEEELLLLLLL DONE YOUNG FELLA"

This man single handedly turned all my best friends into carlton supporters. 11 years on with marriages and children i think he is actually responsible for about 15 carlton supporters that i know. He was the best i had ever seen and such a gentleman. If you love carlton then inturn you should love this man.

I think his game vs West Coast where he took 18 marks including some match saving ones across half back under real pressure is the game I remember him being at his best. I think even Mick Malthouse said he hadnt seen anyone dominate a game so much and was in awe of the atheletic prowess of Kouta..be nice if he could haveeven half the game he had that day in his 250th..good luck to him...

His efforts dodging opposition players with the ball in one hand were always the unique feature that amazed me the most.

There's a great highlight of this on the Ballistic Blues vid in the Melbourne match.

Kouta, well done & thanks.
