Smurphy.......................

His vision for a 18yo in his first game was unbelievable.

First impressions last, both ways.

Great for Murph to enjoy a win straight up.

Geez you guys are aloof.

Verbs = God. Carlton, win 3 , lose 0, draw 0.

Well done Murph.

Absolute cert for NRS. Loved his close in work, quick hands and smart.

Healy annointed him "the young professor" after a passage of play in the forward line.

Carey ,very impressed with him and also said how smart he is.

I reckon he could be the next Greg Williams.

Grant Birchall was superb today.

Murphy was better though.

Wonder how Thomas will go tomorrow.

"Perhaps more excitingly for Carlton supporters, the win also showcased the talents of some of their younger brigade, most notably No.1 draft pick Marc Murphy, the 18-year-old showing plenty of class.

Murphy kicked 1.1 and had a hand in setting up several other goals, picking up 17 disposals and taking five marks in all in a poised performance for a teenager playing his first match at AFL level.

It included a strong last quarter under pressure, as the Demons briefly threatened to get back into the game after trailing by 23 points at the last change.

The play that Murph set Waite up for a set shot inside 50 in the last was stamped with CLASS!!

Just got back from the game - and boy an afternoon on the piss and the the footy is hard work.

Murphy has POISE. Mark that word down because he has spade loads of it. It will serve the Baggers for years to come.

doesn't wilt under pressure. Boy have we needed that for some time.

He was all class and we can only wonder how good he'll be in 3 years.

Great stuff by Murphs - well done to him.

Well done to all 22 blokes who put the jumper on today, set the standard for the list, it can only be healthy.

Absolute class act. It's not the 17 possesions on debut that does it for me. It's the way he used it.

As I said in the Simmo thread, a Collingwwod mate of mine had only good things to say about Murphy (and Simmo) tonight. Love hearing that shit from someone who's not as one eyed as me :-D
