MMM now where is that Kade Simpson is a hack thread?

Well done Kade just shows what playing time can do for a player.

Only a little fella but doesn't shirk the issue, no matter who he is up against. He has courage and class and his chasing is probably second only to Eddie Betts.

Next Glascott? Maybe....I'm hoping for the next Dominator

First pick available to us in THAT draft at number 45.

Kade Simpson was in the All-Australian Under 18 team of that year.

Only time will tell but it will be interesting which career will have the most impact Goddard or Simpson.

Up yours Spew!!!

And furthemore I love the amount of game time he will get running around and winning contested possession and running the lines - rather than an a former player sponging a huge salary at another club. 8)

No I think he was the first pick that we ended up taking in THAT draft. Didn't we trade pick 30 for Heath Scotland? Both put in a great game. :-D :-D

I love Simmo's runs through the centre and Scotland was everywhere mopping up the loose ball and providing that vital link.

Simmo was pick No. 45 in the 2002 ND. That was the draft in which the salary cap penalties were applied. We lost picks 1 - the priority pick (Goddard) and 2 - our 1st pick in the ND(Wells  ).

We also traded our 2nd round pick in the ND for Barnaby French. That was going to be pick 19, but ended up being pick 16 after our picks were eliminated. We would have lost that pick if we hadn't traded it before the penalties were applied, so that was some compensation for us. It appears that we lost our 3rd round selection to replace the 2nd round selection we traded away. That ended up being pick No. 31. From our perspective, getting Barnaby for a low 30s pick was outstanding.

Simpson was our first selection in round 4 of the draft. After him, we selected Cameron Croad at pick 60, Fisher at pick no. 72, Karl at pick no. 79 and Micky Martyn at pick no. 84. We also elevated Matthews and Thornton.

Scotland was not involved in the 2002 draft. We traded our third round pick in the 2003 ND (No. 35 overall) for him. That was the draft in which we picked up Walker with our priority pick, but we lost our 1st and 2nd round draft picks.

Simpson is our replacement for Campo. His game yesterday was like one of Campo's really good ones that we haven't seen that much of over last few years (one that comes to mind Carlton Vs Adelaide 2004 at Football Park).

Goodonyer Simmo and the Bluebaggers!!!

Great game from a guy that has shown sheer ability from day one. Ultimate kudos has to go to the recruiting staff who picked a guy that everyone knew had class but would take years of development before he could show it at AFL level, a very gutsy move given the penalties that we were faced with. Fisher, Simmo and Frenchy or Wells, Goddard and Gilham? an escape act that would make Houdini proud.

I was always a keen fan of Campo (albeit a dissappointed nowdays), but Simmo overtook Campo last year.

Simmo's pace is improving too, and he'll get bigger, so he should become a better player than Campo. Furthermore, Simmo will still be around in a couple of years.

Lighting, gutsy, exciting, committed, skillful and team player is our Simmo.

Simmo looked Braddles like on occasions yesterday... IT was terrific to see...

Been a fan of simmo since day one and always hoped he would become a fair player but he could easily become a very good player....

Love the bloke and he will be a good player this season...

Supporters "on the outside" shouldn't ever question the playing list!
They should keep quiet, behave and have faith that all will be ok. 8)

I only hope that cauliflower Ron Evans is still Chairman of the AFL when he has to place the Brownlow Medal and propose a toast to the 2007 Brownlow Medallist - Kade Simpson. 8)

He wont be able to get the words out.

Then cue shot of the St. Kilda table with Brendan Goddard not even sitting at it.

Even the thought of this hypothetical Karmalogical delight is sending shivers down my spine. 8)

No disrespect intended to a club legend, but thank heavens we didn't pick up Cam Hunter as a F/S selection.

Remember that thought this year when it comes to making calls on Sam Sheldon, Tomi Johnson and Jake Williams.

Can't please all of the people all of the time so have some faith. All 3 will have been watched dozens of times prior to draft day.

Regards Cazzesman
