Eddie Betts starting on the ball was a brilliant tactic, no one expected it and his pace and liveliness around the ball was invaluable in the first 20 mins. it certainly caught the demons offf fuard and they had no suitable match up initially.
Eddie does not have the motor to play on ball for a full game but he showed tonight he can do it in bursts, last year when he was tried in the midfield he was found wanting.
I take my hat off to you Mr Pagan a great tactic

Eddies role in our win doesn't seem to have got the recognition it deserves.

Thought he was fantastic. You knew that whenever he was near the ball that something good would happen. For example those shepherds he made in the pocket to help Carrazzo kick his goal.

And as for the tackling...

Good to see the Fev taking a leaf out of Eddies book too, and the crowd reaction to Fev when he came off after THAT tackle.

Electrifying Eddie.

He will be a headache for all opposition this year and in the years to come.

It's amazing all these young kids. Last few years was a case of opposition tagging a couple of ours out of the game and winning. This year they have to tag Eddie, Murphy, Simmo...the kids...and if they do tag 'em Bentick and Carazzo will do some real damage. And don't forget we can always unleash Walker.

These kids are great support to proven senior on ballers in Kouta and Stevens...and more.

Eddddddddddddddieeeeeeeeee..... got me and the team going. He's a beauty, and just learning this caper.

Go Blues

Eddie will only get better now he has moved in with a few other dedicated young team-mates and gained some solid structure around him. Watch him blossom in 2006.

They were all good yesterday but I reckon that when pago puts together his tape of 1%ers it will be the Eddie Betts highlight reel!!!

Eddie is ferocious in the contest. All of that lack of pressure on opposition defences/midfields etc of the last couple of years, eddie last night was the answer! After a while he became infectious, how could anybody not love Feva's run down of Byron Pickett. That's the stuff that turns games. Eddie does this 10 times per game. Eddie was everywhere, twice when we got free kicks, eddie already had the pill and was goalward bound!!! The one he took off hands in the pack just as Fev was awarded the free was textbook roving!! The stuff that sets games alight!!! If he can just find some consistency and improve his set piece kicking, Eddie is going to be a cult hero for a long time!!!!

Personally, I prefer 'The Magic Man'.

He just made things happen last night.
Far and away the best game of his career.

Excellent.

Maybe Eddie doesn't need to do a midfield apprenticeship with the ants afterall.
