Headplant, compare it to the way North played.

There's not that much of a difference. The way we played in the first few years was plain ridiculous, they took the kick it long thing a bit too far. You only kick long to a contest when the short options aren't really there or if there's plenty of space for blokes to double back into.

Long Kicks % of Total Kicks

50.4% Kangaroos 2001
54.4% Kangaroos 2002

47.9% Carlton 2001
46.9% Carlton 2002

43.8% Carlton 2003
44.2% Carlton 2004
40.9% Carlton 2005

The data clearly shows that Carlton kicks long less often under Pagan and less often than Pagan's Kangaroos.

You know it's only round 1 but after what we've been through, surely we can enjoy it a bit!! I was in the coffee room at work this morning and some worthless 'Aints' loser was making excuses for their loss. Now I know that WCE at Subi arent going to lose to many teams this year and that the Aints did OK to avoid a blowout etc, but after our great win a thought flashed across my mind. That thought stirred up a part of mind and a series of emotions that havent been used for some time. It was an incredible feeling. A cross between confidence, disrespect for others and a sense of acceptance that there is a natural order for the universe and that we are MEANT to be on top of the heap. Dare I say it I felt a little pang of arrogance. Just very slight mind, didnt say a word, never took the bloke to task. Somewhere in the back of my brain though I did think:

"..what do you expect you loser, if you barrack for a mob like the saints your place is pre-determined to be the loser's list, recent seasons are an abberation that is slowly being righted....."

I know it might all come crashing down next week and i might have to re-bury those thoughts in my subconscious again, but just for now I am quietly reacquainting myself with Mr Arrogance!!!

Jars, looking at stats isn't going to help on this one, it LOOKS similar. I don't care about the length of the kicks.

There's been a few things added to it, and a few modifications taking the playing list and styles of players into account but when they move forward it's a similar system, they're just running the ball a bit more, handballing a little bit more and the leads are a bit longer.

Nah Rambo being saying they all pretty boys for years, worrying about if the hair gets messed up for the camera,or get a scratch, toughen them up use the weights, they there for a reason, not for spiderwebs, all they need now is to grow beards and start smelling bad when they go on the field, that will make the other teams afraid to go near them, ha ha.
