I picked up 1AW with the last pick in the FFL competiton I have entered. I got bagged at the time but feel pretty good about it right now! :-D

Just wonder where all the critics of Pagan have gone. He copped it so much for being "too defensive" with Walks but yesterday showed how the change of position can really help not only him, but the team. Walker is big enough overhead to knock the ball away yet fast enough to pressure his opponent and break free and make an option moving forward. His two biggest deficiencies at the moment, holding his marks under pressure and losing his bearings when he has the ball, are not nearly as apparent when he is given a job to do.

Well done Walks ... and well done Pagan!

I've never been a pagan critic, but quietly I've always wondered if he'd lost the team, however, after seeing how hard we attacked the ball and the player in the Geelong NABcup game and Melb last night - i have to say you dont get that level of intensity and commitment from blokes who have doubts about your tactics and leadership. My mind is at ease.

i'm with you Blu. After the Port game it seriously looked like the players were over Pagan and couldn't care less.

Still we have another 21 rounds to perform at or near or even above that level for minds to change for the better. 1 week at a time.

He played a poor opening quarter where his disposal was poor, he put pressure on his team mates and he wasn't tight enough on Davey who kicked two easy goals on him. But then he seemed to get some confidence, probably gathered from his team mates who seemed to collectively grow in confidence as the game wore on, and Walker started to back himself. His disposal was sharp, accurate, and to his team mate’s advantage, he put himself in the right position to spoil Melbourne's ball movement and he started winning the ball. For the first time since his debut he started to show why we selected him, while at the same time using the defensive side of his game that the coaches have been drilling into him over the last two years to really make an impact on the game. Great work Walks, your good enough if you believe your good enough and last nights game proves it.

It was so different to watch such an even spread of determination, there really were no passengers and we were far from one dimensional. Walker was where he needed to be and he had a certainty about his kicking which I havn't seen since his first game.

There was no resigned huffing and puffing from our boys it was a real wilingness to work for eachother. I remember our team efforts of years gone by where we have been pipped at the post or scraped in for a win, it didn't have the ease inwhich this game did, they were out there and they were bloody happy to do their job.

Fantastic.
