First pick available to us in THAT draft at number 45.

Kade Simpson was in the All-Australian Under 18 team of that year.

Only time will tell but it will be interesting which career will have the most impact Goddard or Simpson.

Up yours Spew!!!

And furthemore I love the amount of game time he will get running around and winning contested possession and running the lines - rather than an a former player sponging a huge salary at another club. 8)

Simmo at 45, Fisher at 72, in the end that draft turned out very well for us. Certainly better than getting Goddard!!!

Simpson is our replacement for Campo. His game yesterday was like one of Campo's really good ones that we haven't seen that much of over last few years (one that comes to mind Carlton Vs Adelaide 2004 at Football Park).

Goodonyer Simmo and the Bluebaggers!!!

Big difference is Simmo has a natural hardness for a contest and magnificent ovehead for his height.

Early mail on Sam Sheldon is that he Top 10 calibre and we are going to get him in the Third Round (at Pick 36+, allowing for a few prioritys as well) .

Hey but you tell me Caz - your the man that Wayne Hughes talks to. :P

might be saying the same thing, but for mine I dont think he is a natural Hard Nut, I reckon Bentick is a Hard Nut, but I reckon Simmo is a guy that is playing for the team, not for himself. He knows that when his turn comes he has to put his head over the ball and take the hits for his team mates and he doesnt shirk the issue. The best thing about Simmo is that you can see that somebody has told him that he is quick enough to break the lines. He has obviously been told to tuck the ball under his arm and run out of trouble. I love it when he does this, breaks the game wide open. he doesnt have the acceleration of Judd, but when he gets going he is quick enough.

Naturally hard guys actually get a buzz out of taking, and giving the hits. I reckon Bentick is going to pole axe somebody before the season is out. He is becoming a very solid unit, and some numptie is eventually going to run the wrong side around one of those centre packs and.......BANG!!!

There won't be any priorities this year will there? You need to win four games or less in two consecutive seasons now. And all teams had more than four wins last year so no club is eligible this year. That's one of the reasons the Tiges are going to be rooted come season end.

That's only for pre-first round picks. If you win less than 4 games you get a pick before the second round - so it'd be 1, 17, 18...

Early mail is actually he is 25-30 at best, so let's see how the year pans out and if we get a shot at him, fantastic.

Agree with dboy, Simpson's mark was bloody sensational. I thought he was going to kill himself, not only did he not do that, he held the mark as well.

GUTS and CLASS … a winning combination.

And to think I wanted Greg Edgcumbe instead of Kade....glad someone who new what they were doing called out Kades name
Happy to be proven wrong though and watching Kade is a delight...nice skills, pace and lefties just have that lovely kicking ability...has taken Campos place and added a bit more....Kade can get his own footy and showed that on Sunday evening...doesnt whinge or give away silly free's either....pick 45=bargain...

I've been screaming "Goddard is shit" for a long time now.

Demetriou, thatnks for steering us away from that train wreck.

Goddard is homesick and he has Thomas as his coach. What would you do if you were in that position? Be a star?

1. He's homesick for his family's team Carlton.

2. Thomas doesn't coach (ask Mike Sheehan), and has he not found a position for him, or can't mould him for a position. Goddard is not in Thomas' Top 10 Golden Boys (remember they have a few). He's wasted there at the Aints.

Keep the door open for him, you just never know where he may end one day...it wasn't his fault he ended with them. Remember the pre draft website pictures of him at Carlton, he was lloking forward to coming to his spiritual home.

He's a good footballer, and has shown some good skills at times. He's not delidio, Ball, Murphy or Judd, and he couldn't beat Simmo.

Hamill was very average till 1999 after how many years at Carlton? Imagine in a few years time, Goddard becoming a man who makes his own decisions and Carlton signs him over ala Hamill's cross to Aints Nest when he was at his best?

How is this for a deep thought, maybe the internet experts and armchair media crowd had it wrong in 2002, and we were actually going to draft Kade with pick 1 all along before we had it taken off us .... that would mean that Kade was actually the REAL number 1 draft pick and we actually have two number one draft picks on our list AND walker........... WHOA

I've said it for a long time now.

Losing Goddard will turn out to be not that great a loss.

I satnd by my ignorant, alcohol-fuelled, mindless prediction.

If we had the chance, we'd take Goddard in a flash.........some are just trying to rationalise that the penalties won't affect us as badly as some predicted

He needs to lose some weight, does Goddard, make him a decent running player again.
