Simpson will not be overrated for long .One of the few guys to back himself last year.Could be in for a huge year.

Bentick super tough and strong.Terrific character from all reports.
Walker Better game than his blinder against West Coast. Never dropped his head when Davey kicked those goals.

Fisher Bad luck about injury but great third option up forward
O'Hailpin Should play this week in replace of Fish.

and Smurf.Great decision making skills

And more to come.

Rix was picked up for the same reasons in the 4th round this year. Could be a good get for the Saints, hell any half decent ruckman would be for them.

And they reckon the Eagles have it bad with no forward line...

Bingo.

The people who rate them are the people know what they're talking about.

You're right Bias, but I think you'll find that's pretty much the case at 15 other AFL clubs.

Yeah, but as I said, does anyone outside of Carlton and it's supporters, know who Kade Simpson is? Or Andrew Carrazzo? Or Adam Bentick?

I'd say no.

True, but I'm a lot like the other club's supporters and don't pay much attention at all to their players. But I have a killer stats spreadsheet on all of ours! :-D

You'll keep young Bias!! (Is that short for Tobias?)

Our kids will remain underrated until we start stringing some wins together and the journos pay a bit more attention. When you win one game in 8 the journo's just look at the stats sheet and go yep Fevola, Whitnall, Lappin, Stevens...and don't really look closely.

But wins on the board will win recognition - just look at Monday's papers - the bits about Simpson, Waite and Carazzo are just the start.

And it was just recently people kept saying we had a shit list. Things change fast! Never really was the case in the first place, the diference now being is the current terrific attitude and committment of the players and better , more "modern day" coaching all round by the coach. Makes for a way happier team, from which the wins will continue to come. Be a terrific effort by the coach if he can re-invent himself after all these years.

Not that he is exactly a media darling, but Bentick's name has mad eit on the game reports 'since' he had that 35 touch game against the filth last year. If all of our kids start finding some footy and making an impact on games, then the media will fall in line.

Underrated by others but overrated by us. I agree on most of the players but AB is just your typical midfielder from a struggling club.

Bulls**t. AB will play 100-plus games for us.

He may not be the most skilful of midfielders, but he'd be a walk-up start at a dozen other clubs. He's 21, and he's played 15 games.

Have faith.

All bar WC, St K and Geelong. Brosbane is borderline.

Thanks, Halford - you beat me to it.

Especially with Nigel Lappin out, Brisbane would love AB on their list.

I rate Simpson and Carrazzo ahead of Bentick because they have a bit more 'spark' about them.

We still have a few on our list that are relics of a time when we had to scrape for our youngsters because we had traded away all our early draft picks. These players can only do the best they can with the opportunities that they are given but only a few will make it.

Perhaps Bentick will have a roll in our midfield rotations coming of the bench but if we get a few quicker more explosive types in the next few years, who knows what will happen.

As far as I'm concerned they can underate our list for as much and for as long they like. Less expectation and you can get under the guard of lot more teams that way.

But if we keep winning that will change.

Carrazzo and Simpson are different players to Bentick.

Not all players need to have a "spark" for them to succeed in the AFL. Bentick is a in and under type who feds the ball to ball carriers eg Simpson, Carrazzo etc.

Yes they are all included as midfielders but so are ruckmen.
As you saw a few years back when there was no in and under player eg Ratten, the ball carriers struggled eg Camporeale.

I’m not saying Bentick is a Superstar but give him a go! He has done everything Carlton has asked him to do so far. He captained Calder in there Premiership team and dominated the bullants for a while. He deserves his shot and he is still young. He also does the one %ers which shows he is keen to play AFL. He could be an important to our future team
