Listened to the match via the internet and he hardly got a mention, but I can see that he delivered 5 tackles on Saturday suggesting a certain hardness at the ball carrier. Is that the case? Did he play mid-field or was he just striving really hard to keep the ball in the forward line.

Harrassed, chased, spoiled and swooped on a couple running into goal only to have it brought back. Missed one easy chance and one snap.

Apart from the missed shots, good game from Eddie.

Started off in the midfield - set the tone for the game with his chasing, harassing and tackling - played off the bench and forward line after that - missed a couple of shots on goal, but an exciting, solid contributor.

At the moment, doesn't have the stamina to play a whole game in the middle, don't know if he ever will. Would like to see him play every game this year, rotated between the forward line, midfield and bench...

Has to become that crumbing dangerous small forward we desperately need...

Probably played as well as Davey, but for his missed goals, and Davey was amongst the Dees better players. Has been over-looked somewhat in the excitement of such a solid contribution from the entire team.

He played the best game of his career so far in my view. Maybe didn't kick the goals you'd expect from a great Eddie Betts game but he got his hands on the ball with 15 possies using it well, and he fought tooth and nail to help his team when he didn't have the ball. He was unlucky when goal bound and could've easily kicked two or three goals if he'd took his chances or the ump didn't blow the whistle stopping him running into an open goal time and time again. Can't ask for much more from him at this stage of his career.

Eddie probably created about 15 turnovers from his pressure and pace.

I thought he was "electric"!!!

Best game I've ever seen from a player with only 5 disposals!

Eddie showed a stunning ability to hit the mid-air crumb at full pace, times his bolt beautifully. Eddie was all quality Sunday night.

while he didn't kick any goals, it was his best game for the club.

Carey was very impressed with him on the Fox Footy coverage. Reckoned that it was rare to find a player who knew how to crumb as well as Eddie. Was particularly impressed at how he could read the ball off a pack and hit it with pace. Believed he could become a real star of the competition.

Great game from Eddie.

I thought it was smart of Pagan to start him in the centre square from the first bounce when the pace is hot, then move our slower players in when the sting is out of the opposition players.

Eddie does not have the size or stamina to go full time in the middle yet but his sure hands made up for anything he lacked in size.

I thought I read 5 disposals, it was tackles!

Still one of the best games I've seen from a bloke who only got..15 disposals, obviously 1 for each turnover?

Eddie was great and set the standard I thought.

Just set the tone at the start of the game i reckon

There was a fear going in that you know, we were playing a good team, and could have been in trouble, but Eddie's pressure was immense.

And then others picked up on it and Betts was seen more just ahrrassing.

Great to have him in the team.
Amazing to see him start in midfield.

Speaking of moves, was anyone surprised that the Demons played Miller in defence and Brown on the wing?

Carey speaks in glowing terms about several of our youngsters, he's particularly fond of Brad Fisher. I think his time at the club has given him an appreciation for the latent talent on our list that most of the other Footy journos and commentators lack.

Wojee, good point about Carey. The other bloke he was talking up as a potential 'superstar' was Waite. So he does seem to give us a better run than most of the ignorant hacks around.

Yes I was wondering about Fisher too. He had five marks in the first quarter could have had 15+ for the game. They are Stewie Lowe figures. He would have been an awesome target in the forward line. Is he injusry prone or just unlucky?
