Karl says his "outing" on drugs was the best thing that could have happened to him.

A pity, ut nothing we can do to stimulate his neurons. Better living through Biochemistry? Not in this case.

It is a good article. He is obviously learning from his mistakes.

I would have said that remains to be seen.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in dealing with that problem. He has already done that.

Many young people make mistakes. Those who refuse to learn from them are the ones who grow up to be drop kicks. Looks like Norman is on the right path. Good on him.

The guys only 22 yo and has a lot of growing up still to do. I can't believe how hard we judge these young footballers for making the same decisions (or mistakes) a lot of us have probably committed in our lives.

It doesn't make him a bad person, or a misfit, or even anyone we really have the right to condemn and criticise. I certainly was guilty of partying up big time at his age and don't feel that I should be condemned for it. I wish him all the best and if he is fair dinkum about resurrecting his AFL career then good luck to him. I am pretty sure the powers that be wont be bringing him back to Carlton, but so be it.

Well, full credit to Karl for putting his hand up. So often these days it's "society's" fault, "lack of support", "the media's fault", "Marto's fault".

He was stupid. And it's cost him massively. But at least he knows that the person responsible for it costing him massively is himself.

He'll really struggle to get back playing with Mooroopna, but stranger things have happened.

If he really has got his life back on track then you can only wish him the best of luck. He had the world at his feet, plucked from obscurity, playing reasonable senior footy, and he pissed it up against a wall.

That's a tough pill to swallow, if you get my drift.

When things go wrong, the natural tendency is to blame others.
Karl,to his credit, layed the blame firmly at his own feet.
He also could have lashed out at Calton. On the contrary. He praised The Carlton Football Club, and its leadership group.

I noticed a very small snippet on the inside back page of the West Australian today saying that Norman hoped to re-enter the AFL via Fremantle.

There was nothing to back it up and no indication of what it was all about, just saying he was resurrecting his playing career with Mooropna.

I think West Coast would be more interested in him.

Good Call! 8) :-D He have to get back into the habit, if you will, but he would have no small number of teammates to help out.

I sort of meant it both ways. :P

They would be desperate for someone of Karl's height and talent.

True, but I meant in a more holistic sense.

Good on him if he turns it round, and remaining dignified about what happened.

Well he is back in the O&M League, bit hard to get your hands on the pills out there.
