Setanta but if not we should consider Saddington - his last few games ith the Swans were as a forward with some success and if we havent got fisher or waite the 194 cms Saddo would at least be an alternative to Fev

Not a bad "in" Frank,

has the flexibility of releasing Whitts forward and Saddo in defence also....It's a tall out, but do we need a tall in?...or is JR due?

You are correct Frank, as usual.

Last year's rules allowed Barry (Swans FB) to jump for the speckie and take out the man (speckie being for the good of the game: the spectacular), but more importantly he chopped the arms because of his height deficiency. TRT at CHB, Kennelly.....you know the story, they pushed him forward and he kicked 2,2,1. He crowded Hall's space on the short SCG, because of his mobility and height, so he was moved out for more midfielders. They could do with Sado out in the back this year.

Back to the point. Saddington is mobile, that's his style, and injury wont change that innate quality. At his height he could do some damage in the forwardline. He would come in as an unknown to most footballers as a forward. He's proven to get over the knee, we need him. Get him on and lets see what he's got for the forwards and the backs.

Some will post that he is not ready. Ready for what I ask?

Saddo has made a solid attempt to regain fitness in Jan-Feb, and he played a game of footy last week end, let alone post knee op with the reigning premiers in 2005. This guy's a seasoned footy player, he's played 100's of senoir and AFL games, shit loads of games as a CHB,HB,FB,BP Mr fix it, and he's only 26(?). He's ready, and there's always an interchange bench to have a breather after doing some damage...in the forwardline.

Can't wait to see him on the field against the Swans!!

its also an insurance policy if livo thorton and whits cant contain Barry who has effectively beaten us off his boot at least twice in the last 7 losses to the swans- even if he doesnt star - he often puts in a little cameo and sat behind digby trying to do round arm punch with hall marking strongly to win the match at PP in the last quarter a couple of years ago

Don't mind Saddington as a forward. He is a good mark. Also plays well as a floating defender as well - so could rotate with Whitnall in that role.

Can't help but notice a bit of an echo in here.

IMO Saddles has to play this week. He adds that much flexibility to our team as others have mentioned. Playing him on Barry Hall would be my preffered option as he is mobile and strong and obvioulsy would of played this role many times while in Sydney during intraclub and training. I would then push Lance forward if Waite is out so at least we still have the balance to our structure.

What I was going to say. :P

Clearly they're going to throw Santy in either way and to be honest, I would prefer Banno over Chambers as he's proven himself as a tagger.

Might not be a half-bad much up on O'Loughlin either.

How about Lappin, is he gonna play, i know he got hurt last week and came back on, but it will really hurt us not having him running of half back.

How accurate is that team though being a Wednesday? The footy show is probably only guessing like Round 1, using the best players from the VFl as a guide and last weeks team.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow night.

Waite WILL NOT play!!!! I have heard that he will be out this week and possibly next week. All we seem to do is rehash the guys who have taken us to 2 wooden spoons. Let's play some young blood and see if they are up to it!

GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting they mentioned Wiggins as being under an injury cloud considering he didn't play in the seniors last week.. I don't see the point.

If Waite doesn't play it should be Whitnall who takes CHF...It's unfair to ask a first gamer or Setanta to hold down arguably the hardest position on the ground...IMO Saddo should come in for Deluca and Kennedy for Waite...

This means that Lance can play CHF, while Saddo plays Lance's role as the 3rd tall in defence and floats around to help out others...This means that Kennedy/Setanta can play on the third tall in the forward line...

YAY!! We are getting SOME depth!!! :-D :-D

Not too sure how accurate the listing is.

In the Age Pagan says that Kennedy is a chance - can't see us dropping DeLuca if Waite is out.

Good point...If Waite does miss then it is likely that Saddo may come in for Waite...Deluca can play his useless role as 3rd tall and Whits can play CHF...

I just feel that Kennedy or Setanta have more to offer than Deluca does...They may not have played a lot of footy but they both can crash the packs, must have cleaner hands than he does and can take contested marks (unlike Deluca)...But as you say, Denis will never drop his lovechild... :? :?

I think that is the most likely if Waite is missing. We'd have the luxury of naming Red at CHF and Saddo at CHB or there abouts, and can always drop Red back loose if they struggle with Barry.

I agree Saddington in and down back. Lance to go forward.
I would prefer to have Kennedy in but I reckon he needs 1 or 2 more games under his belt.
