Just highlighting the use of the word 'never'.

Heaps of players wear gloves. If it helps him, he needs every bit he can get!

He doesnt put any pressure on the defenders.
He never looks like kicking a winning score for the blues.
Theres no point him creating a contest if he isnt feeding the ball to our forwards. BRING ON SETANTA

As I recall in Justin Madden's first and should I say very unspectacular year at our Club, he actually work a helmet in one game  , I'm not saying Deluca will be as good as Justin Madden. But it took Madden nearly 2 years before he started contributing on a regular basis, I think we should afford a player of his height and mobility at least this long and at least 12 months tutelage under Gary Dempsey before casting him aside.

DeLuca is still only 23, and for a tall guy like him, that's a long way short of prime age. Being critical of players is OK, but some of the claims made in this thread about Deluca's supposed deficiencies are laughable.

Good call AGRO.

We all know that big blokes take a longer time to develop, and it is obvious that ADL has weaknesses at present, but it is illiogical to suggest dropping him off the list. He needs time as all the other big blokes do. Carlton supporters should give up the delisting argument and give this bloke a go. He will get better, and if that means better than Saturday night, then that's worth the wait.

I hope you get to the game. You will not be noticed as an absentee from church, as long as you are there with your fire works, Carlton jumper and singing Christos Anesti at midnight, and not the Carlton song; you should be right. You will have ample opportunity to sing the club song after our victory at the ground, in your car, and at your table eating mageritsa.

Enjoy the night.

Maybe I'm watching a different team..... but in my book, having mobility and height is nice, but being able to play is better.....

... I wouldn't drop him from the list just yet either... he'll have at least 8 players in the queue ahead of him for that at the end of the year.... give him some more time... sure... why not!!

but not in the firsts, until he learns something he doesn't already know.

Maybe my opinion doesn't count because I'm so new to this site, but gee.... DeLuca...... he's just... he's just... not a very good player (and, I suspect, never will be)

part of the problem for him Tyrant is that he is being asked to be our CHF. Tough ask for the kid. When we have Fev Waite Fisher (Kennedy?) De Luca will be able to play a tall option not THE Tall option.

no, I'd say the problems starts earlier, with us asking him to play AFL

look, I don't want to sound like a negative nancy, but we've got to be objective. I hope DeLuca becomes a star and proves me wrong... I don't wilfully want Carlton players to be duds.... but I can't shake this feeling that DeLuca.... just..... well... that he's... just... just a turd out there

Rather than say he is a "turd" just say he is not up to what you want of a key Carlton forward. A crap comment really!

yes, sorry... I was quoting "Arrested Development"

Mrs DeLuca, if you're reading this, I don't think your son is a turd. He is just not what I want in a Carlton key forward
