2) Thornton - what has happened to this guy??? Two years ago he was outstanding but, since his injury, he lacks judgement and is forever turning the ball over!
From the AFL record, Effective Kicks for 2005:
Code:
Thornton: 85.7%, the 2nd highest in the team (behind T. Longmuir 86.1%, ignoring J. Russell and S. O'Hailpin both on 100% from 2 and 1 kicks)
AFL defender average: 80.1% (and average for other positions under 80%)
When making statements such as the above, one should always refer to the facts rather than the emotions.
And re Houlihan, well I think he gathered around 10 contested possessions against the Swans, and is leading CFC disposals wih 71 (10 greater than anyone else) as of round 3. I guess that means he is not going too well.
I think Stevens is doing OK, probably a little overpaid but that's the way it goes the way the system is setup these days ... swings and roundabouts. He works hard most games, but sometimes the way he plays (and the team plays) he is vulnerable to the results of dumb team turnovers and fast break.
