Aside from a desire for getting a cynical reporting angle, I cant understand why the media is still wanting to give Elliot oxygen.

The same reason a hasbeen redhead from Dancing with the Stars is asked to comment on immigration or Anthony Mundine is asked his opinion on islamic fundamentalism.

Elliott is suffering from relevance deprivation syndrome and Mike Moore wannabees are happy to try and resurrect him.

The social club made a profit 250k last year simply because we dont play home games at Princess Park.......... even a monkey could work that one out, no games at PP no pooring rights, advetising, gaming, food etc

you can dislike the man as much as you want, but dont confuse that with getting in the way of fact.

Is it a fact?

John Elliott stated that we were not over the salary cap.
He also stated that we were in a sound financial position.

If you make statements based on the clubs financial reports, I'll take them as fact.
If John Elliott is your source of information, excuse my scepticism.

It s**ts me that Elliot gets more airtime to spin his useless drivel.

I am wanting to see the club be helped in ways that will help it move forward, not revisit the past.

We need more talk about how things like new directions in marketing, development of a new business plan, active negotiations for the redevelopment of Prines Park etc.

This is the kind of news that matters most.

Where once upon a time we had them falling over themselves to give us money...because giving us money meant we would be great.. us being great meant that they could feel important around each other.

today no matter how much money you give.. the club would be better off but it cant translate out ointo the footy field as greatness. Its all socialistic driven with a salary cap and a draft system.

The days of clubs absolutely dominating the landscape for a decade or two or in our case three.. are over.

So there is no point giving in their minds. Why give for a training facility when the team is going RS?

If the salary cap and draft disappeared.. youd find our position would improve tremendously money wise.

Its just human nature.

Youre probably right but it aint going to happen. the club has taken an eternity to come to grips with the draft and the cap. the smart clubs now and in the future are the ones who can spot talent, develop, and keep it. The club should actively seek and invest in a national system of recruiters and stay ahead of the game
