It wasn't childish but it may have been futile. The mods waste more time on these forums trying to get people to behave like adults.

If you must be negative about a player, try and be responsible, interesting, thought-provoking like Frank Dardew, BV, ELwood and many many other posters are.

The 'so and so is a HACK!' threads are more at home over on Big Footy.

See, that's where a select few moderators fall down quite hopelessly. Can you find one thread where I've called any player a hack? You won't. And to fabricate things like TBB tried to do is quite childish and completely ridiculous.

Sure it's a tough job to moderate, and no-one thanks you, but at least do the job with a degree of responsibilty, or just give up.

ANd neither I or TBB said you did, so does that mean you just "fabricated" that statement?

TBB just asked for more positive threads, and I asked for more constructive criticism.

blueblood95 took the comments on board and has started a new thread accordingly.

thanks bb95.

Ah...see, it's not this thread I'm referring to, and as a moderator I thought you would've worked that out. I was wrong.

verbs, you know what to do...any issues you have...pm a mod and discuss it.

There's quite a few to choose from...you must like one of them.

Maybe we can just encourage everyone too be honest and constructive.

Then if we get threads that are both negative and positive who cares.

Wiggo has a heart as a big as Phar Lap, but along with a few of his other mates must be released at years end for us too move forward.

Longmuir
Chambers
Bryan
Davies
Wiggins
Sporn
Bannister
Teague

That allows us too promote possible two rookies, and enter both the national and pre season drafts and strengthen our list.

Very true.

We need to stop plugging up the line up with "Selley's" products.

All of the players you have said need to move on..

Except Bryan. I reckon he has got more to offer.

Maybe he should lurk around in a forward pocket...ala Salmon

(I know he is not up to Salmon's standards yet)

I am sure that only contracts prevented more delisting last year, and thtas a player like Brett Johnston may have gotten one more year if say a Davies or a Wiggins etc were not contracted.

My mail (maybe unfounded) was that Bryans attitude at training and preparation is below standard at present. Now I don't know the guy nor know that for a fact but it has come from a few sources.

Therefore we must continue too be ruthless. The question must be, of those guys listed (including Bryan) do we see any of them being major players in our quest too move into the finals.

I would say know including Bryan. Happy too be proved wrong.

All I can say, is that from what I have seen Bryan has a good mark and a bit of football smarts about him.

The contract factor is debilitating, and after the Elliot fiasco it would be wise to keep honest.

I dont believe Livingston, Wiggins, Davies, and co are on long term contracts.

I still think Pagan is not playing the best team for the future.

There is no point in playing these mediocre players anymore.

Look at Geelong. 3 years ago they were a bunch of kids, now they have grown into a team with a big future.

We must stop playing 25-28 year hacks

Yep,

In the next three weeks we must see the Russells, Blackwells, Hartletts etc all playing together at nce, and if Bryan needs a go and is of value, then beauty.

I don't like any of them because I don't know any of them.

What it comes down to is:

are moderators going to be the thought police?

If they are going to waltz into every thread and ask "why are you talking about this?" then why would anyone bother posting anything?

These places work by people creating discussions. Some ideas you agree with, some you don't.

It's not about..."oh, this is such crap, why are you lot talking about this?"...that's not moderation, it's judgementalism.

Which makes it quite clear as to why some are cut out to moderate and others really struggle with the concept.

But how do we know when a moderator is moderating or just posting as a normal every day poster?

I've been involved in a few situations where I was just "one of the boys" and after time became part of "management", it became clear I couldn't continue as being one of the boys when I had to "flex" as a management rep.

You are either one or the other.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

So you are saying that becoming a moderator voids all possibility of posting in a non-moderating fashion?

100% of posts by moderators are moderating based then?

Seems a very black and white world.

Hmm...yes it does doesn't it...?

Wouldn't want to drag up too many hypocritical issues here, would we!

I just like consistency verbs, you don't seem to hold the moderators of other sites to the same high standards that you do here on TC.
