I've particularly noticed that Stevens and he's not on his own, nearly always fail to lay a restrictive tackle at centre bounces when the opposition get the ball first in close. They always seem to brush him aside and dish off; the tackle appears to be of the weak glancing variety.

Just and observation and opinion.

Yes I know its easy watching from the armchair!

JR had a solid game.

And before anyone criticises, he would go great in a good team.

Walker magnificent again.

JR has two turnovers, but seemed to be more full of run and confidence as the game went on. Has to be persisted with. Improving each game with more time on the field.

Simmo was dynamite besides a few poor kicks.

The way we played in the first quarter was brilliant with Lance providing the options across half forward and directing traffic.

The last time we will see Deluca wearing Navy Blue.

McLaren on the talls in defence played a great game IMO.

Fev played well defensively.

Oh and Murph just shows how the game should be played. The world just slows down when he has the ball, makes it look easy.

How did Lance get on that list????He was destroyed by a guy we laugh at alot.. even though i think hes a handy footballer.
If Richo had kicked straight we would have had every bit of stuffing kicked out of us.

I am sorry JR had a crap game not alone there is something there but he needs a spell in the 2nds as he did not hit one target with a kick tonite .. yes he hot someone with a handball but not a single friggin kick hit a target
He will be okay but like Simmo needs to mature and improve his decision making and disposal and hit a target .... but there are things to like just not in tonites game

Does anyone else love it when Murph takes a mark about 55-60 metres out cause you just know he's going to back himself and run on? That goal was just 100% class.

Walker was great agin.

I too thought mclaren was good.

Murphy and Walker.

Hell I hope we can do enough to hang on to these boys long term.

I love Murphy's vision and decision-making. I love Walker's bursts of energy and mayhem and him coming out with the ball and the others left standing flat footed.

Both these boys give 115% for the team.

Agreed Walker on the wing taking 4 bounces swings ball into the goal square and gets to Waite for the goal of the nite

Was something good out of a ordinary nite

the biggest positive was that richmond made us look a lot better than what we actually are.

we should hav been beaten by at least 8 goals. only for poor kicking that kept us in it.

pathetic.

Positives, (sorry, got side tracked), ....

Walker & Murphy.
McLaren did a job down back.
Jarad got back on the park. He messed up a few times, but will get better.
Houla battled on well all night.
Fev kept his head up, despite getting scragged ALL night.
LANCE, (love the free to Richo coz Lance took peek at him out of the corner of his eye. Richo jumps on his back a week early.... 1 goal to Richo)

Even though he's got a loooooong way to go the main positive for me was Jordan Russell getting more involved in general play. I just hope they keep playing JR and let him keep taking those forward baby steps.

....oh, and please sign up Andy Walker for another 10 years :)

We're not far off putting it all together.

A better team would have killed us given amount of ball they had up forward,
Richmond are a ordinary unit going nowhere and thats why it hurts..the scoreboard flattered us...
But this is a positives thread so here are my positives...

Houlihan...dare I say it..probably our best player last night along with Walker..the Houligan won the footy well, including a lovely no look handpass in traffic and disposed of it very well apart from one poor kick early and that because lance went he wrong way...Houla kicks to space on his right and doesnt go the hook kick but Lance didnt remember that..
Houlihan look our most polished player ....

Walker....great work ethic as usual and gave us some run....now in our top 5 players and just seems to be getting better...consistent and hungry for the footy and you cant ask much more of him..

Murphy..lovely goal and like Walker doesnt give up...needs to start on the ground...

Waite....made good position and tried hard but coulnt take a mark but as Gary Lyon said is about two games away from a bag of goals....

Scotland....best game for a while...thought he contested well and put his body on the line running into danger and did it well..thought he like Houlihan used the ball well ..been on Scotlands case this year but happy to praise him when he does well and it shows he can do it if he wants to...

Lance...was ok...down forward early and then copped Richo down back and while Richo beat him at least he did try and as everyone knows if Richo is switched on then no one can stop him so I cant bag Lance and thought he did ok...
