Collingwood have done well with Thomas. I didn't know anything about Thomas before the draft (other than what I read) and not so much about Kennedy either... but I was very interested in the outcome of our pick 4 and assumed it would not be Kennedy or Ellis.... all the "form" on the boards and in the press was that those 2 would be picks 2 and 3, so I was surprised or "shocked" (as in surprised, not dismayed) that Collingwood had bucked the hype and chose Thomas. I'm sure the Collingwood recruiting staff knew more than me, as I knew nothing about him. I dare say they made a really good choice, and good on them. In moments of surprise, people tend to exclaim things.

Listen carefully, woof... because if you actually READ posts you could learn about other people's opinions. I never said Thomas wasn't a good player. In a moment of surprise and shock, I will have exclaimed something about them bucking popular opinion..... which is obviously a good strategy if you think popular opinion is wrong (ie, Collingwood thinking Thomas was worth pick 2 and being proven, at a very early stage, justifed).

So, for you woof, and everyone else on your approximate level of intelligence, THAT is the explanation. On an ideal site, where people of intelligence who can read and interpret plain english and human behaviour correctly, my readers will have known this.

My advice is if you cannot comprehend something someone has posted, either ask a question or gauge their meaning, or just don't get involved in the more taxing conversations..... because engaging people like you is very tiresome and makes the site not worth sticking with.

THESE ARE YOUR WORDS NOT MINE .... In relation to Collingwoods selections 2 & 5 in the 2005 draft, WHAT HAS COLLINGWOOD DONE?
Obviously according to you and the genral public they had no idea what they were doing because "popular" opinion says you can't pick blokes that are not in every elses top 5. And this all before any kid has played a game. But then again the person that made those choices had probably seen these kids play 100 or so times.
Very,very intelligent.

What's the chances of Walker being included in the leadership group next year?

So when I get to 7,517 posts I get to be inteligent?

And can you tell me why you would make comparisons to the treatment of Thomas and Walker and not Thomas and Murphy?
Were did Andrew Walker play his first year of football?
And by saying that Mick Malthouse has done a great job with Thomas I would like your opinion on his handling of Fraser?

Just simple questions for intelligent people. Have a go and try and answer them.

If Pagan had not released Murphy to play the way he is at the moment the fans would have lynched him - He has had his hand forced on this one

Would you regard Josh Fraser as one on the elite players in the AFL- - I wouldn't Josh is average at best has never lived up to his potential in my eyes.
Maybe it was the way Malthouse handled him when he first came on board???

The words intellect and woof dont go together. Tyrant at =least contribute to the discussion you my friend are just a sniper

So if Denis had his way Murphy would be playing in the back pocket?

Mick Malthouse destroyed Josh Fraser in his first year of football continually playing him in the ruck against blokes twice his size. This is the same bloke who you say is doing a great job with Thomas and the role he has found for him at Collingwood. I find this very amusing even for my intelligence level.

You can snipe at the defenceless coach but you crack the sads when I pick holes in your posts.

Do you actually read my posts???? Didn't you just see me say that Collingwood have done well with Thomas, that I was surprised because of the media about Kennedy, and that Collingwood recruiting men are more informed than the media and also myself?????

THAT POST LAST YEAR WAS OUT OF SURPRISE AND NOT DISMAY. Do you understand the definition of "surprise"? Expecting one outcome (or no outcome) and getting another???? It doesn't mean the outcome you get is a bad one or the wrong one......

Bloody hell....... I don't know what language you prefer, woof... but in a site where English is predominant, you should at least make an effort to read and understand what people write if you're going to address the points they make. Otherwise you're like watching Jeanie Little on compass.... way out of your depth and annoying

Good question budzy!

I think he'd be a great inclusion. Leads by example in the way he prepares and goes about improving his game. :-D

8)

I think its a good idea.... and also an opportunity to build him (and others)proactively....... like you would in the workforce....

training courses, retreats, mentoring with former champions, case study work (strategy or attitude stuff).... anything that would both build their skills in leadership (other than, you're in the group now try harder) and also send them a powerful message about how seriously Carlton is about leadership and about them as leaders. A full training program... it could even be facilitated by Parko  (a guy with credentials in that field, but would never take an opportunity to draft them  )

Sorry to butt in,had one of my very few footy discussions with Andy yesterday, quote"have not done anything different this year compared to 2005,I reckon Denis has simply given me a little more latitude this year and TOG,and I feel so much more confident as a result."

I'm glad he's taken the opportunity with both hands. Not many things are better than watching him grab the ball and take off, backing himself in.

I would argue that your post was out of delight at what Collingwood had done rather than surprise. But whom am I to question your intellect.
You are a little Jeanie ous.

Does that mean getting some advertising on board or closing the site down?

You could always try a self ignore and don't respond
