I just flicked over to the ABC a few minutes ago and saw an interesting editorial about the Carlton Football Club's proposed arrangements with The Age and The Herald Sun's reactions to it.
Basically, it said that CFC was to have had a sponsorship deal with The Age, but the board were unhappy with "The Bluebeggars" article and so reneged on it.
Meanwhile The Herald Sun were insensed with the proposed deal that they started their own bad articles about the CFC (these are "water on a ducks back" to your average supporter by now). They waged their own war with Ian Collins and his conflict of interest. Basically, they were putting pressure on Ian Collins to resign because of his handling of The Age issue. Collins subsequently resigned.
They still have a "jihad" against Telstra Dome.
Mediawatch are asking why both papers deemed this issue not newsworthy to report to its readers, even though there was a snippet on The Footy Show at the time.
I don't know if Mediawatch has repeats on its website, but it was interesting to hear some of these details pieced together.
