Rivalry still matters, but...

These guys don't get it really, do they. Supporters are the lifeblood of any club, and as one, let me say that THESE RIVALRIES DO MATTER!!!!

Collingwood: in the anals of our great club there are legendary statements about these battles. They are MUST WINS. I recall there only being two games a year that really mattered and that was when we were playing finals and being succesful. And a year where we beat the Filth twice was oh so sweet.

We have all bled on the terraces (some literally others metaphorically - back when there were terraces of course) over these battles, endured the abuse of those filthy filth (As a kid i watched these games at Victoria Park), and enjoyed the beauty of beating these bastards at any and every opportunity.

It was something sweet, to be savoured, and enjoyed over time (and time and time again), like a good red in front of the fire.

Remember what's better than beating Collingwood? Beating them by less than a goal.

Dont matter, pfft.

I'll tell you what doesn't matter - Position on the ladder doesn't matter, talent on the list doesn't matter, its the clubs (the supporters) who make these games great - its the crowd, the passion and the spirit. That makes them MATTER!

I want Pagan to tell the boys about these games in history. I want him to mention it, revel in it, roll in it, wallow in it, and then make the boys go out and RUB THEIR NOSES IN IT.

We are not playing in finals these days, so this is it. This is what Counts. This, not the @#$%&! shockers, the dinky lions, or the chardonay crows, its the Filth.

Always has done, always will do.

Go Blues, knock those bloody filth off their @#$%&! perch.

Agree.

I enjoy victories and despise losses against Carlton more than anyone, regardless of the circumstances.

I was disappointed with the tone of that press conference.

But then again, it wouldn't be politically correct to admit a fierce rivalry...the AFL may fine us all a million dollars after someone throws a drink at someone else and ruins their best tracky dacks.

you sure, deep down, that you dont go for carlton.

your wit and humour at times is so much higher than that of your "average" collingwood supporter.

and by the way, yes, beating collingwood is even better than beating the bummers, only just, but it is even better than beating the bummers.
