Just returned from the 'G'.

And to set the scene, I've turned up, at the invitation of some collingwood mates (serve me right) and enjoyed the salubrious surrounds of the new long room.

Half time - 2 points down, and very much in it.

The team returns early onto the park, preparing for the second half, and the wet weather footy (no idea but it was like someone had said "its raining" and they all turned up to get used to it).

Suddenly - three goals down, and THE GAME IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we dropped our heads.

6 minutes into the third, and this little blue duck knew exactly what was going to happen. in fact, at that point I congratulated my hosts on their victory. They called me pessimistic, but eventually agreed.

What was it 80 points in the end (in a half).

Tarrant, well held all day, Rocca, well done to Lance.

and at the beggining of the last it happens.......

Pagan thumbs his nose at us all.

Game over, and....

He sends lance to the forward line.

This is a joke.

A @#$%&! joke.

He wins, and he wins, and every time he wins, we move him.

Are we a one man team? (Ok I withdraw that).

So, I take it, I drink beer, and I take it, and and on the train home I realise its easier not to care, cause it doesn't hurt.

Unfortunatley, I do care, and it does hurt, and I want someone to blame.

We did drop our heads, and we are better than that. But I think I have said it too often now. I think it gets said all the time as an excuse - we are getting better, we are improving, they are young, etc, etc, etc, etc, @#$%&! etc.

I've barracked for this club for a long time. My first live game, the '73 Grand Final.

I became a member for the first time follwoing black Friday, I've been there to put the money in, in time of need, and I have been happy to help.

But today has set me back, it's upset me, and I wonder what we are, and what we have done that we have to put up with this.

Yes, its been bad, but this is the pits.

The lowest ebb.

The saddest lament.

You are not alone - we all take it personally! I am truely embarresed to call myself a Blues supporter. The effort today was nothing short of pathetic. We ARE the laughing stock of the AFL. We should be dropped to the VFL (where I reckon we would struggle to win).

Its probably for the better guys. 14 more losses this year and the first two picks are ours. Cheer up, it aint all doom and gloom

Seagull unfortunately the blatant takning of certain sides who are magically in the top eight this season means they changed the rules. 1, 17 and 18 are the best one can hope for, if you're a glass half empty type.

I thought they'd changed that rule now. We only get the first pick and the other "priority" is down the end of the first round. Is this not correct?

EDIT: You replied before I could :-)

I thought if you had won 8 games or less over two years you get the pick before the draft. WE wont win another 2 games this year so we are going to get it

No it's 4 in any year. We won 4.5 last year.

Actually, it's no more than 16 points in any year. We had 18 last year.

Typical comment - you play games TO WIN - not for draft picks! Draft picks only get you so far. Wins are what get you a Premiership!
