Pagan is our coach

We can't afford to loose him, we can't afford to pay him out.

If we sack him we should change our jumper to black and yellow and move to punt road.

And I'd argue the time has come for radical change otherwise what we're getting now is going to continue for the next two years.

A coach like Mitchell, even in a stand in capacity would be on peanuts and allow the club to pay out Pagan. I believe it will cost us more in the long term both on and off the field to keep Pagan than to make a significant change.

Until this week, I was undecided about Pagan, but that game plan is damaging kids.

Ken sheldon premiership player at Carlton, the guy that introduced respect back into st kilda in the early 90's when they had nothing and then they crucfied him...and possilby surround him with people like peter dean and brett ratten and bradles..why not?

I think there was another thread about this last week

No offence anfield, but every time we have a staggering loss (or indeed a great win), people overcrowd the forums by starting new threads about stuff which is already being covered.

Not having a dig at you though dude - if I was I'd tell you you'd look good in the socks Coll wore yesterday.

Point taken however people should name names. some of the other threads which i checked before posting mostly contain rants about who the back up staff should be and why pagan is hopeless rather than specifics.

If the club can find a million dollars a year for kouta to do f@#$all then surely they can do the same for Pagan.

many of you scoffed at my suggestion of sticks, some with good reason. how about this: chris bond. i dont want to justify it at the moment, just gauge reaction.

Fully expect for this to be met with contempt, but in terms of prospective 'uncontracted' coaches, I'd love to see what Brereton could do. Forget the babbling on Friday nights, he knows the game (even though he uses 50 words to say what he could have said in 5) and would instil the 'mongrel' that we so desperately need. Do I have any support here?

I too have been on the fence and undecided about Pagan but i now feel he needs to go...It's not a case of bagging him as a coach but IMO he is not the right coach for us...We need some fresh ideas, a more attacking gameplan based on kicking big scores to win games, not trying to restrict teams to under 100 points with the worst backline in the league...Most importantly, i feel something needs to be done sooner than later...Allowing us to flood and play this ugly football is not good for the younger players...WE need to find a way to pay him out...Hell, id put some money towards it...

defense yesterday was a strange one. tarrant, rocca and buckley didnt really trouble the scorers. youd say in the past if u stop those guys you have a chance of winning. most of their goals came from running type players. i actually thought 2 of our best yesterday were whitnall (obviously) and thornton who marked tarrant out of the game. still, i reiterate our next coach should be:

CHRIS BOND.

Seriously.. guys... I hate to be the voice of reason.... but......

we shouldn't be jumping to nominate Mitchell without considering all candidates.

Mitchell might be the best man for the job.... but we have to get him to apply for it and prove himself relative to what's on the market

Exactly...Who thought Neil Craig would turn out to be such a good coach?? There will be people out there that could make great coaches that many of us have never heard of..

well, then we can invite him for an interview and see how he goes.

I don't just want a 30 minute convo with Malouf... I want an agency hired! I want psychometric tests! I want case studies! I want philosophies and plans! I want an interview process so exhaustive that whomever we appoint knows we're serious... and professional, and expect the same amount of seriousness and professionalism in him....

Football is a business. The Coach is almost like the CEO..... and you wouldn't find many big companies appointing a CEO without some degree of diligence.... even if he's headhunted there's a shitload of diligence conducted before the offer

any one of us would be better than pagan at this stage. he has well and truly lost the plot.
