i disagree hammer. we are playing football, just not very well. i am of the opinion we could be a good team IF we are prepared to believe that. ive said it time and time again: back the young guys, have faith theyll rise to the occasion, dont drag them, play them in their positions, play attacking football. borrow from soccer, run at defences, have our forwards start out of the square, running to meet the ball. make the other team think, make them have to change things up to combat our moves. dont be so reactive to the slightest thing. id love to see us come out on sunday and ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK. put the bombers under intense pressure. play with a standard 4-5 man backline and 4-5 man forward line, id be willing to bet on us to win if we played like that. walker and simpson on the wings, make sheedy sacrifice HIS gameplan.
rant over.
If you think we are a good team, you must be looking at something different on the weekends.
"Don't drag them" - some need to be dragged and told their performance is unacceptable - Scotland for leaving his man unattended, Lappin for putting in piss weak tackles on the boundary line, Carazzo for shooting from 55 rather than looking for a better option and also looking on in the 4th qtr as the ball bounced over the goal-line, Waite for taking a mark and then trying to run around the man on the mark, French for being outmarked by Licuria without applying a hit, Simpson for stopping the ball on the goal-line rather than punching it through, Kouta for allowing Dane Swan to dance around in the forward pocket and kick an easy goal ... and all these examples of players not doing the basics are just from last sunday, and all cost easy goals!!!
Just like I would expect Mitchell to tell players like Bower to be accountable in the Bullants regardless if he 'hurts their feelings'. Some of these players need to grow up and realise if they don't perform they'll be warming the bench, playing bullants or cut completely.
Pagan needs to get tougher and punish the lazy errors which are killing us every week.
