Sooner or later the development of those kids will require them to win some games, or play the sort of footy that will allow them to.

Look at the Hawks last year. Clarkson got them playing attacking, free-spirited footy and they are chockers with confidence now.

Our boys are pretty much driftwood, and don't seem to be getting much of an education on how to win footy games.

I don't see that as very good for their development at all.

We don't have a 22 that we can say "we can play good footy with this 22 over the next few years."

They did.

bullshit - i think we have some real talent in our side and even more to come into it. we are far from the horrible side you would like to believe we have.

indeed, i think we have a better side in the making that hawthorn.

the difference - the coach.

clarkson is prepared to give his kids a run and let them have a go

pagan is not

im not saying lets go out and get the next clarkson, but Pagan, is in self preservation mode and if you think he isnt you are deluded, with some of the statements he has made thus far any thrashing is unacceptable.

We are going nowhere fast under Pagan - dont worry about our list, man for man with the exception of a few i would back our players in time and time again.

With the exception of Luke Hodge, Peter Everitt and a few others who are quality footballer and maybe a few others i would generally have carlton players ahead of Hawthorn players and that is without any bias.

We are a few players away from having a really good squad, no doubt in that, but we are far from a horrible playing list.

nope, if with the general consensus and that is Pagan has had his shot, it hasnt worked, no worries denis, we all need to move, come on board Mitchell or possibly Mark Harvey if you could pry him from Freo, however i would prefer Mitchell due to him already having very good knowledge of our playing stock and give him the rest of the year to sort the players he wants and the players he needs to get to play the style of play he wants the lads to play and a style of play that they can play.

Given that DP can't be sacked for financial reasons. I also think that a coaching 'trade' is unlikely to occur (similar to Newcastle and Parra in the NRL) as who would want him? Therefore DP should be forced to do the following: replace TE and replace TL.

If this club has any balls it will tell DP the way it's going to be and not pander to the pathetic rubbish that he goes on with.

I'll never forget at the end of 2003 DP saying "it's not the coaching staff it's the players" he then repeated this after 2005. So DP by deduction you are saying the recruitment during this time failed - so is Hughes getting the sack??? DP has a list of dribble that he churns out each interview, the media and many supporters just lap it up each week. I was astounded last trade period that DP says that he leaves recruitment up to Wayne and his resources. I'm astounded he does not PUBLICLY say that he is heavily involved at the END OF THE SEASON in making sure we get the right players.

For mine we just don't have the cash flow to pay out Denis and then pay another coach and it would destroy and chance of AFL assistance, Pagan's payout would be 1.5 million plus.
Just won't happen unless massive supporter pressure, and I don't mean disgruntled pensioner from Kew emails or I've been coming to Princes Park since Ken Hands played and I think Lance should be (insert prefered) played back or forward.........calls to SEN or 3AW.
Bottom line is probably you can't make sugar out of shit, but it is getting time for a new mixer to try.

Just out of interest - did we get belted more in 2003 than 2002?

03 was many many many times worse than 02 - I could cop the spoon in 02 - we had a horrendous run of injuries to key players yet continued to play with passion for most of the season - from memory we probably only had 2 10+ goal losses. 03 was a nightmare - several 100+ point beltings, several record losing margins etc - team devoid of passion.

It seems from the result yesterday, and the flooding gameplan based on Pagan's Paddock has been a complete failure with ths team, especially the last few weeks, defintely since the Hawks loss.

The pattern is quite apparent, from recruiting Micky Martin, Teague and Morrel, and *cough, cough* Tony Elshaw that something is quite apparent. Pagan can't let go of his North thing. but worse, he can't adapt to this team. Isn't that basic enough?

Just coz there are a billion threads about Pagan, doesn't mean that "Bosustow" isn't right.

You're right, I_S, but do we really need yet another thread?

I pity the poor server having to cope under the sheer volume of threads devoted to Denis.....

If you can get x 100 others, than Im in for x 2 people. The grief Pagan is inflicting on me every week is worth far more than 2K.

The legacy that we will leave this club will be far greater than the sign that says "Carlton Heroes Stand" on the old John Elliott Stand I can tell you. People think I am joking about this but I am not.

Good on you daggs001.

Thats $2000 we have so far.

why don't we just ask for special assistance from the AFL and use that to pay him out with... or the $2 mill we might get a year from next season.

If Pagan had any decency he'd realise how crappola he is and "retire gracefully" at the end of the season, and not make us pay him out. We can either sack him or he can go out with dignity

I am in for $1000!!!!!!!!!!!! 10000000000000000000% You all better be serious about this because I am!!!!!!!

This guy is killing our club and its our duty to put our hand up and do something. Plus its time to presuure people like Wallsy, Parko, Andrew Maher and other carlton people with a voice to start coming out about what is happening at our club.

Cmon lets get serious.

Goodbye Pagan.....

I would if I had the $1000 ..... I suppose I could just sell my body for it, or give up coke for a week.... but there is a neighbours cast party tonight, so it'll have to be next week.. is that ok?

Don't worry KK, they're filling the void from anti-Lance threads from previous months :?

For those who can afford the $1000 they should...as for the otheres who cant then maybe we should organise something simliar like we did with the sponsorship with Paul Bower...what ever anybody can afford...we need to show the club and the public we are serious...we will not stand for the negativity surrounding our club...THE LINE IN THE SAND HAS BEEEN DRAWN!!!!

Why can't anyone work out that the expense wouldn't be that much greater than it is now. Pagan has to be paid anyway regardless, and can be paid out over 3 years, the term of his contract. So there no extra there. The extra comes from giving, say, for example, Barry Mitchell a pay rise, who would come alot cheaper. Just an extra 150-200 grand to what he gets now. No different to a player's contract variation. Kouta's contract's up this year so it will cost us stuff all extra.
