I was wondering the same thing mikkey.
I'm out of the loop and didn't see TFS. It sounds very ugly and reminisent of Richmond or StKilda a few years back.
But does anyone forsee a challange to the Board?
For example the fresh blood types that Synbad alludes too.
I'm certainly not advocating a new board as I don't know enough of what is going on at present or whom else is avaliable. But reading this thread is sad indeed. We sound like a shambles on and off the field.
It's easy to lay the blame and fairly obvious who is to blame for how this great club arrived in our present situation.
However we now need to look forward and plan for the future.
I'm interested on whom people think will turn us in the right direction.
Regards Pedro.

I keep saying... fools judge people only on decisions made today...
what you plan today you get judged on in four years time...

Its called planning....

Do we even know what a plan is at this club????

Given they have been here 4 years.. what was the plan???
Is it more obvious today ???

 I know some Port fans who would take immediate issue with the assertion that the crows were first.....

Damn. That is absolute bull%#@!

Port should have got the first AFL licence in 1990. Then the crows wouldnt exist and another real club coouldhave entered later.

The crows are only more popular because they are a watered down state team.

I hate port but at least they are a real club.

The Crows are more popular because no one wants to barrack for that dirty swampy gutter trash.

Now there's a petitionable argument, a simple overview of a 5 year plan.

Perhaps Cammo can expand his view and petition that (because we might actually get that) so that the picture on who needs to be removed might become a bit clearer.

Yep it's all pretty bleak in there at the moment but I think you can cross "the end of the club" off the list of possibilities.

Aside from the fact that the league needs 16 teams it's just not realistic. The Roos, Dogs and Dees have been bottom feeding for years and the Dogs have shown that you can start to turn it around though it takes time. We have a much bigger debt than them but on the other side we have a lot bigger following.

We've gone to the AFL cap in hand. Big deal. We should have done this a couple of years ago but everyone screamed about "pride" and "what have we become?" and all that other bullshit. Well this is where pride gets you. If we'd done it then and had a couple of years with an extra 1.5 mill a year then we might not be looking at it to fill shortfalls this year - we might have been able to use it to actually build some momentum by now.

The board is clearly out of their depth but that doesn't mean the club's lost. CFC's an idea and it'll be re-thought before too long.

As has been pointed out (relentlessly  ) we need new income not less spending. We're already spending bugger all in every department. Those who want the Pratts of the world to chip in a mill or two are missing the point. That might pay a few wages for a little while but it's not sustainable continuing income. We need to take our 19 mill a year income and turn it into 25 mill a year fast.

Grats to you, flicking the radio on now.

Full audio should be on air in about 10 minutes, appears to be about the salary cap. <--- Not us breaching it.

Basically blamed the Footy Show for over inflaming his comments.
Said the AFL wouldn't probably allow CFC to go under 92.5% S/C as it's against the rules.

Malouf was on SEN this morning backpaddeling about what was on TFS.

Smorgan's presser this afternoon was the same. Seems he now regrets some the things he said plus TFS edited it to make it look worse (and Smorgon did not expect this...). So today they had to run around reasuring people that the Club can pay the players salaries etc. Smorgon did however mention that he was happy 100 people rang to get a membership after this piece..... Also said they probably would not be able to go under 92.5% (so why say that??)

Complete tool our el Presidente....

Agree with Budzy....the man leaves you with no confidence at all...you have to wonder if the AFL are running the club now and Smorgan is just going to bend over to everything they say and want him to do....was this his idea or the AFL to have yet another media conference?...

They had to because of the word "insolvent" being used last night. Started with Malouf doing a lot of media this morning to try to repair the damage and Smorgon had to call the presser because of the way TFS backfired on him.

Everyone knows how hard it has been during the past 3-4 years ... all the jokes, cheap shots etc ... but I have never been as embarrassed as a Carlton supporter as last night, watching the goons on TFS break their "exclusive" on the Carlton Footy Club being "on its knees".

Then the biggest goon of all runs around today blaming the media! WTF! As Synners said, who'd want to be associated with our brand, when it's being run by a bunch of clowns. The only consolation is he's, hopefully, digging his own grave. Problem is, we're going down with him. Denis can wait for another day. Let's get rid of the "board".

You could not have summed it up any better. I wish Eddie McGuire was a Carlton supporter.
