One thing I have picked up on TC this year, and it's a constant, is Synbad's call for fresh people with fresh ideas.

I don't know too much about the current board, and I suppose not many others do. How could they if they are being told nothing.

I'm convinced about a few things though:

Synbad is a modern thinker and I agree with him that we need a plan and fresh ideas to promote the club

The current board do not seem visionary (excluding Lee), and fresh ideas from fresh people are imperative.

The kids' on the list give me reason for hope.

Pagan needs to communicate with the broader Carlton base as to the development of our kids, including the ones in the Ants' ressies. What's the plan (because it isn't based on any obvious methodology, let alone form)

I wouldn't want to be in the trenches with some fragile Carlton supporters. Some of their actions (petition) and comments about players are baseless.

We've got a game to win this Sunday.

Carlton need to unleash the kids, now we have our defensive game impregnated into all our heads. Time for creativity.

Skills coaching needs improvement.

Pagan should develop Plans A-Z, and show some flexibility. By this I don't mean move Lance forward or back. There's more to flexible, creative thinking than a one move change.

Pagan must learn the virtur of rotations, and show some faith in the younger guys

Prendergast has earned a place in the team.

Carlton must not spend more than 92.5% of its salary cap next year. Hence 8 delistings and a big splurge on the super draft.

Carlton must provide an environment that is condusive to creating a desire for the young guns to stay at the club. That also goes for supporters.

This is true....but I'm sure I remember reading about how Ian Dicker used to put his hand into his own pockets to purchase a large number of memberships....and also he used to make significant donations to the club on an annual basis......it may have been an ego thing - to ensure that Hawthorn were reporting profits during his tenure....

That is right and we also need to remember that Hawthorn has been living off the large pot of money they received from the sale of Waverley.

Essendon* are struggling and also did last year - their membership currently stands at over 36,000. Good results and high membership correlation does not apply there.

We need to establish a business plan and build to a position where we make profits each year irrespective of poor seasons on the field. Collingwood had 2 poor years but still sustained high membership numbers and million dollar profits.

Can we build apartments at PP 8)
