This is simply awesome news. This could really turn everything around - both on and off field. This will really lift the spirits of the place if it is true, and the club desperately needs higher calibre individuals on the board. Ahmed Fahour would be a terrific start. I'm suddenly very excited about going to the football again tomorrow - could be the rebirth of the blues.

Sounds like bullshit to me but I'll be more than pleasantly surprised if true. :?

Agreed, I'll believe it when I see it.

Please let this be true. I couldn't stand the thought of my Collingwood supporting father converting my son over to the Pies if we go under.

I hope he chucks in Pagan's resignation just for good measure.

UNLESS we believe in "better the devil you know....."

nah.... piss off Smorgon!

If true, you wonder if Smorgon could ever be considered a "Carlton man" if he refuses :?

i don't know that it does sound like bullshit. the one thing that gives it credence is the fact that when BT breaks news (i did say news) he is generally around the mark. he doesn't drop a bombshell without there being some substance to the claim. he was first to drop the Lloyd news that he would be out for the season. he was vindicated very shortly after. he was also first with the news last year about something fairly big (can't remember off the top of my head) which also proved to be true. there are rumblings around the club. not long before something gives i reckon.

Not sure we have a great deal of options at the present.

The man loves the club so I'd be happy to trust it in his hands, but still I'll believe it when I see it.

Just spoke to a fairly reliable source and this rumour has legs.

Nothing concrete yet.

Still early stages.

No private ownership issue from where I'm sitting.

Might take a little while to sort through.

you see, this is something i think people freak out about but dont understand.

there are so many clubs around the world that are privately owned and most wouldnt even no.

i see no issue in this.

if he takes over the club and ensures that we stay forever carlton fc - no problems from me at all and him being owner means we never have to hear of financial trouble and the place becomes a positive place again.

where do i sign
