wants something in return".........!

well ya %$#@ING RIGHT......he does want something in return..........

tommi.... are you implying that Pratt is some kind of biter?

look, this all sounds fine and dandy, but you're all taking your eyes off what this club REALLY needs.... Richard Pratt might be a good short term replacement, but is he REALLY the kind of man we need? Does he weild the right kind of power?

is he the right kind of TYRANT???

If this rumour about Pratt paying off all our debts is true then i think we should make him President.
We knows what he is doing and obviously could bring in a lot of money for Carlton and he knows a lot of people, has a lot of connections and he would be a far better president that Eddie McGuire coz he will be able to sign the sponsors and would have a better business background. And he is a passionate carlton supporter.
What do you guys think?

And one last think, i will say it again. Anybody who signs the petition tomorrow for Denis is a disgrace to this great club.

Sadly, I don't have 7 million wing-wangs...... but I do have $7 in the bank and a strong Carlton network (CK95)

... and I reckon the Blueseum is pretty good!

Pratt - I was wondering where he was hiding all this time. If I was him I would put in a caveat. I want 35,000 members before I cough up. If it's good enough for me it's good enough for those who should be Carlton members but aren't.

It will give us a chance to put the numbers on the board on a couple of fronts, stick it up the oppostion a bit who are loving what's going on.

Absolute crap - they hate each other!! Thats the only issue I have. Is Pratt using us as a vehicle to get a shot at Smorgon - and I guess - does it matter if he is and we benefit. We just need to know what game we are playing in.

Pratt has been toying with a challenge for a while.,..not for himself to be president but he does not believe the current board are capable.
Its interesting to see smorgon shored up his power by appealing to the Italian vote )Valmorbida) and the the popular vote (Sticks).... promised a new board member within a couple of weeks and so far nothings happened...

If it was to be Gleeson... there is a HUGE chance if the Pratt rumour is true.. that they headed of that move at the pass and theyre left scratching...

I reckon we should try and get the Indonesian government to invest in the club...... they're keen to appear to be good blokes.. what better way than to put your name to Australia's favourite past-time?

Well it is a greek word, probably born from alexander the pusti days!

As great as this news is, there are many underlying issues that need addressing besides the debt.

- The board needs imrpovement BIG TIME! What are the contigencies if the condition is that most vacate? Greg Lee was recently voted by the members. Does Pratt's money override our constitutional right there?

- Football dep't needs change too. Do we add a $1M payout debt to what we already have? Is this covered by the donation?

- Once we have eliminated the debt, can we improve revebue generation at the club? What do we do with on-going maintenance costs of the ground muted at $1.5-2M a year?

- Besides the short-term excitement generated by something like this, what will the fallout be from members and supporters if the team doesn't show improvement or comeptitiveness this year, next year, etc.?

I reckon this is great for the club (if true) but Carlton has to improve from top to toe. A lot of work ahead
