Synbad....you seem very eager to talk up Mr Pratt and what he alledgedly wants to do... and as excited as i am too..im a little concerned that if Mr Pratt puts a foot wrong somewhere or perhaps doesn't do something to your likeing are you going to jump off his bandwagon like you did with Whitnalls? And then when he begins to perform again, will you keep your mouth shut on the issue? Just promise me if you are behind Mr Pratt now you'll stay behind him!

MB

P.S PLEASE LET THIS BE TRUE AS THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMMOROW.

I dont think this has been released in the media yet but somehow i got my hands on an extract from Mr Pratts upcoming speech:

" I didn't come here to forget who i am and where i came from
A person who walks Carlton
Talks Carlton
And IS Carlton
Better Support Carlton!

Summary of the Smorgan interview follows but they do seem to be dragging their feet on the new board member.

They had a meeting yesterday to "put together a list of names". They have signed 500 members since Thursdays footy show, which is a pretty fair effort. Denied saying anything about paying less than 92.5% of the cap and said that a message had been passed on to the playing group that it wouldn't happen. Asked if the players understood the history and culture of the Carlton Football Club and said that the club had spent a lot of time with them explaining the history and traditions of Carlton and what it meant to have Blue blood flowing through their veins. Again said that players are playing for their careers.

He spoke of glowing terms of Richard Pratt and the Pratt family's strong history of philanthropy, but he had heard nothing of the takeover plan until he read it in the paper. He did say if people want to help they can give hima call.....

Deflected all Caros questions, especially those pertaining to Dennis' contract, and would not divulge the nature of private conversations that took place in the President's meeting a week or so ago.

I would love to see that footy show segment again, because as I recall it, it came out of his own mouth.

Oh, yes one thing: No get out clause in Denis' contract.

$7 million reasons for a get out clause if Pratt jumps in!

Never believed in sacking the coach midseason but if Pratt puts his money in does create some more options. Might be the most important 6 month's in the club history & FUTURE history.

Synbad, The Pratt Foundation (Israel) gives millions of dollars helping jewish refugees and immigrants (or as you like to call them...'settlers') integrate into Israeli society!

Can you accept money from such a person?

I thought someone as morally-sound as you would STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN!?

Is it not a conflict of interests?

It's not impossible to be able to reconcile both stands, as the two aren't related.

Is it really important for you to needle, or are you just making a spurious point?

From AAP tonight _

Quote:
Billionaire businessman Richard Pratt today denied a rumour he wanted the Carlton board to resign in return for massive financial aid to the AFL club.
Pratt, one of Australia's richest men, told AAP: ``There is no truth in the rumour''.

Very difficult to believe he knew nothing of it until he read it in the paper this morning. That means he was totally absent from all football matters on Saturday. Didn't listen to the radio, watch TV and no one from the club called to ask him if he had been approached by Richard Pratt.

So he's going to pay off the debt without making the board resign? What a guy!

Smoke screen. Liverpool won, Carlton won so Pratt has to win to complete the set.

Im Greek...

Anyway..... i dont hop behind people and hop off.. when have i done that?
If i hope of people its for a reason... and you just dont follow people around regardless...

Unless youre a total moron...!!!..

And whoever thinks i just hop on and off is a moron....

Another thing re Pratt... ill stick by whispers that he is around and that the NAB guy is getting a huge push to be resident.
The crux will be him agreeing .. the setback is his time commitments with his corporation.
The flipside to that is finding a gun CEO to run the clubs day to day business...while the President introduces corporates to the club.

As for the current board looking for a ex player for the board.... therre couldnt be a million names could there?
It would be McKay.. Gleeson.. or Glascott.

Whats so hard to make a decision when i already know one of those has aspirations.?

Rod Kemp announced he is not going for re-election for the senate. I think he'd be a gun candidate for a future president.

It would be very nice if posters could stick to making statements that are linked to what is reported...rather than trying to score points off each other for past "discussions".
