Did anyone else see how many times McLaren took the ball out of the centre bounces?

With him and Kennedy both showing so much today, together with Murph and Scotland and Lance...McGrath...Simmo...Fev...Eddie...T Bird....Saddo showed signs...Bentick was Rattenesque all day....Waite....so much talent.

The only negative I saw was Fisher's injury.

A great day!

It's all great, but we need to remember that Bombers played without their Spine... so it was really bad opposition and westruggled to put them away until late and still managed so many turnovers. However, great to see some of the young players really turning it on.

Fo rme a positive was that it seems that the some of the greats are getting more involved in the Club to help out. We had the Buzz and Kenny Sheldon and others in the SC speaking and reving up the troops.

Especially Peter was fantastic, spoke about the passion, the young players and he was also very funny. Made you feel all good and fuzzy.... Just the type of stuff we need from the Club and which the current Board is unable to communicate.

Skills were not as bad as previous weeks.

Why do our skills seem to improve in less than ideal conditions?

Not that I'm complaining, just wondering.

Awesome effort all round.
No flooding...........means more numbers/options up forward, meaning it's easier to hit a target, hence easier to execute skills, means less turnovers. Love us to back our strong forward line, it's one asset we do have.

**We won!

**We beat Essendon*!

**The players seemed to shrug off some of the negativity. The skills weren't totally error-free, but there was effort, and encouraging signs.

**Lance!! Enough Said!!

**And, last, but surely not least, I don't have to do 100 push-ups at netball training tomorrow night. I bet the girls, most of who are Essendon* supporters, that I would if we lost! And I get to rub in that we won all night! And their punishment (only the Essendon* girls) is to do 2 laps of the gym, sprinting.

YEAH!

half time ... buzz just popped into the social club. glascott was on the dias with bomba sheldon drawing the winning raffle numbers.

sheldon went over to buzz and got him up to say a few things ... of course you couldn't keep buzz to just a few words!! he just took over and spoke very passionately about the blues ... and himself!!

sheldon was quite impressive as MC. after the game, sheldon cheekily forced a sheepish hartlett and livingston to lead us into a rendition of the song!!!

Fisher's injury had a silver lining though.

It meant Kennedy had more game time and gained a bit of confidence. He is a bit slow with his decision making but the boy can take a contested mark and that's exactly what we need down there. He will be our Anthony Rocca.

I thought Scotland was great. He is often a scapegoat - deservedly so - when we play poorly but he was our general today and slowed the play down where it needed it and just made sure nobody panicked.

Eddie, Bentick, Lance, Fisher (1st half) Thornton, Simpson, Fevola all had great games.

I thought Saddo was good for us too.

Can we keep Mcgrath in the 1's? His experience and cool-headedness was very important in the second half.

Wiggler's game wasn't bad either.

With Fisher and now Kennedy up forward as genuine marking targets opposition teams won't have the luxury of double and triple teaming Fev.

Murphy is all class.

Walker is gonna be a jet.

Lance pulled Lucas's pants down.

Lance, Fev, murph, kennedy, scotland all good.

Great for the young guys to have a win, and great for the club after the last week, but geez, Essendon* are an ordinary side...

If I was a bombers fan i'd be concerned about the next few years after what i saw today.

I'm far more optimistic about our future. Some of our kids are gonna form a pretty good team in a few years...

Another positive is that the replay starts on Austar in 15 mins.

Thought Mclaren was good too...

Oh, and nice to see thornton getting some form back - would have liked to see him towel up that diving, sniping, grass throwing idiot again though...

Murph and Kennedy were great, good to see them get amongst the goals too.

Fev was outstanding.

Whitnall and Thornton were in complete control down back.

Hope Fish is ok. :(

Missed out witnessing a good win, Synbad

Kennedy moved around very well (what a target he will provide our blokes now and the future), Murphy was very good (busy and kicking goals, but great poise and composure), Betts was pressuring and doing the hard chasing and creating (very electrifying, and is getting better).

Yeah it could be development and Sheedy is way way past it.

And i have no doubts what Josh can be after watching him in a handful of quarters in the ressies already and a game or 2 in the championships last year.

In 2 years we will have a Collossus straightening us up at CHF.
I saw his comeback game.. he did a few hard things in the VFL practice game... went off at half time but the team looked like it had more structure whilst he was on the ground than when he was off.
