I'd rather have him run through Milne.

I reckon Betts could run through Milne.

betts is like a goliath compared to Milne.

Wiggins maybe a good tagger. harvey can kill a team with his possesion count. He is always a danger because of his skill level. The chief might be able to stop their flow

Can Livingston be brought in to take on Fraser if it's raining and is fit?

Forget who we will use Walker on. Who will they play on Walker?

I like our chances in this game. Although the Saints would have to start favourites I think if we are going to cause an upset this year this might be it. Despite their missing players they will be going into this game expecting to win it and if they are not switched on and our boys get a sniff....

We have the pace to go with them now. I'd like to see Simmo go with Dal Santo. Also watching Bentick compete with Ball for bottom position in the packs will be fun.

With no Hudghton and Fev on fire they will be challenged down back. Will we be able to cover their big forwards? Time will tell. I'd play Thornton on Reiwoldt. T-Bird has a big tank and can follow Reiwoldt around the ground. Whitnall did well on Hall so no reason why he can't do the same to Gehrig. I'd keep McLaren down there just to give Frase a whack around the ears if he does his nana at any of our little guys though.

It's a game I don't expect to win, but we are not without a shot if the boys turn up with some confidence.

Livingston listed as "Test" post injury, doubt he'll come in....carrots can take Milne as well....
We have to learn to bomb it in when Fevs hot (and mismatced) which may well happen again this week.

Fev could've had 10 if he'ld had more supply...any supply. In 2 years we've gone from bombing it to looking for the perfect pass.....and the reality is we're not choosing when to use which.

beat me too it.

livingston on gehrig

whitnall on reiwoldt

some will say im mad, but if whitnall plays forward of reiwoldt like he did against Lucas and Rocca and uses his smarts as he did against them and backs himself like he has been i cant see any reason why he wouldnt be able to hold Reiwoldt as well.

t-bird to play as he did on the weekend against Essendon*.

a real chance this weekend i reckon

del santo, hayes and harvey are the dangers.

if we can beat them / draw even with them and give our forwards enough oppurtunity we are a dead set chance.

reckon fev has another bag on the way with him not playing on Houghton.

go blues - 15 points

With Max out, our forward line only has to contend with Maguire and Sam Fisher.
Should win that easily.

Livo in for Fisher. Should play on an out of form Gehrig.
Whitnall on Riewoldt.

I think we should win the ruck with a combo of McLaren/French taking on Ackland/Blake. I expect DeLuca to be dropped after his poor performance against the Bombers.

Once again, it'll be won and lost in the midfield.
Really need to contain the likes of Hayes, Dal Santo and a half fit Luke Ball.
Stevens vs. Hayes
Scotland to line up on Dal Santo at some stage

Likewise, but it's bound to happen.

Trouble with Scotland is when he's playing at half back, he's playing as an attacking defender and therefore stands 2-3 metres off his man.
Was made to look quite the fool when he played on Thomas the other week and broke even in the first half when he was on Monfries.

Just had a look on SS and a few of them are shitting themselves.

How times have changed.

Absolute key for Lance to have any chance on Reiwoldt. If St Kilda are on top Reiwoldt will have a field day on anyone we put on him. If we can get on top in the midfield then Lance should do well.

Drop two or three back in front of him and we won't hear from him all day as seen last Friday night against the Cats.

I'm sure he'll get another chance like he did last time and Fisher's absence will save him anyway.

And yet from all reports, French played well for the Ants.
Surely French and possibly Bower in for DeLuca and Fisher.

Me too......media have talked Rix up as well and was their best player for Casey....been suprised he hasnt played before. I think he will give the Saints a lift and may do a Mark Porter and have a good game..I think some of us are selling the Saints short..
Gehrig will beat Livo if he gets enough supply and while they have the calibre of Hayes, Dal Santo, Harvey and Ball(even though injured) it will require max effort from our players to stop them.....
I would play Thornton on Reiwoldt..has done the job before...

Beware Milne as well....dropped last week and will come back in IMO and will be keen.....Maguire has also been talked up in the media as being off the boil and I reckon he might hit back with a decent game and our old friend Brendon Goddard might get a stopping job on someone like Fev if Hudghton doesnt play...been in good form Goddard and is impressing me with his sure ball handling and marking....nice kick of the footy as well and is an accomplished player along the lines of Darren Milburn but with more class....

Wont be easy and I still think the Saints are favourites...Fishers loss hurts our structure up forward....

match ups:

Riewoldt= Whitnall
Milne= Betts
Gehrig= Thornton
Harvey= Wiggins (he might be a good tagger)
Del Santo= Bentick
Hayes= Stevens
Ball= Scotland

Chief might have been a tagger all along.
He is fit and take the hits.
If he can stop Harvey and Scotland can get more of it than Ball then they wont get enough supply into thei forward line.

Either Prendagast or Teague will be called up for Fish I reckon. Would love to see Bower given a taste but not likely.
If Milne plays Simmo will probably get the job.

I would like to see some development rather than regression...both players unlikely to be on the list next season...

Luke Blackwell should get a game.....I think Blackwell and Bentick would have a fair education playing on the likes of Robert Harvey who will teach them a thing or two about workrate and how to find the footy at senior level....

I would play Bower vs West Coast and also make sure that Blackwell and Kennedy are in that team and get a chance to perform in front of their families....

Completely agree Elwood, but I'm just forecasting what DP will likely do.
Would love too see those young guys getting senior time but who knows how DP thinks?

Sounds good. Harvey was in the paper the other day saying hpw much he learned from Williams. Now he should hand that knowledge back to where it belongs - CARLTON!
