Turn it up Guys sheeesh the whole @#$%&! side hasnt performed at any consistant level for the past 4 years why target Lance only he wasnt alone and i have said all along the sooner we got rid of Campo the better our team would be .... Nothing worse than having a disgruntled sniper in the ranks to cause there rest of the playing list down the hole.

I have no doubt that certain players have picked up there game and attitude now that Campo has gone.

As for trading Lance well its all dependent if he stand up through out the year not including Injury but within 2 years the only senior players who will be in the side and guinding the up and comers will be Lance and Stevo
Within 2 years there wont be Lappin / French / Kouta thats a garantee.
The respect the younger brigade get from Lance especially and Stevo to a degree is so important at the moment

Look at 2 gomes this weekend
Hawks - Lost Crawf / Croad and Jacabs 3 experienced heads and even i f i dont respect Jacabs still the younger playing list do and they got smashed by Brissie who couldnt fire a shot in there most recent matches

Tigers - Lost Kane Johnson / hall / Gasper / Kellaway lost there key Experienced leaders or senior players .. The kids got smashed

We need the talent we need young up and comers but we still need on field guidance and leadership ..... The Importance of Hird ... Voss is imeasurable for players who gain respect and can offer direction..

Lance is showing us this year and stepped up. And if he can get our forward or backline to work smarter and playe smarter then that will be invaluable for this team.
Even Fev is getting more mature in showing leadership which surprised me but hey if finally the message is getting through then it will make Fev a much better player.

Stevo i am sure though he has his critics is showing the way in the Midfield but i am sure he gets respect from the kids in how he works his guts off every game

We need these 3 to support our young list to improve and learn as much as they can while they are around to offer advice and there will be such a large influx of talent and kids coming in over the next couple of years .... there has to be players to show the way.... Also if Lance does perform consistantly over the whole year do you think its going to do good to players seeing the one player who has helped them over the year to develope..

hey this is all opinions .. lance may drop back or loose his fitness but if stays the same as he currently we would be silly to trade off someone who can offer more than just being a good player when fit but same for all players ... has experience both in the forward and backline

rem guys takes 3-4 years in most cases to see a talent flourish (Murphy will get there in a year but will show much more in 3-4 years)
Players like Walker / Waite / Fisher / Bentick / Simmo all showing that but has taken time .. Kennedy / Bower / Edwards / Hartlett / Russell over next 2-3 years ... Players from 2006 draft unless a exceptional player in 2-4 years.. I want some senior experience to help develope these kids

Anyway thats my 2 cents worth ... in 1-2 years time Kouta / Lappin and French wont be around ...
So the future will be with the Kids and Whits / Stevo / Fev and i am certain all 3 will step up and lift to guide the blues future .. and i can see this already this year.

So someone's crappy 2003 means he shouldnt be retained for 2007, even if he has a break through year and wins the Nichols Medal?

Pox logic.

Hey whilst we're at it lets Trade Fev, after all his has great currency, and i'm sure he'll revert back to his old ways soon. Oh and Fisher he's too injury prone we need quality on the park not in the stands. Who else ?? Umm Houla because he is an outside player and we all hate recievers.

Seriously how can we be talking about this trade rubbish with proven performers.

I can just imagine West Coast trading Cousins at the end of the year. Also i could see them giving up Embly ( for those who didn't know Embly was a big drinker so lets assume that he'll revert back to it )

Sorry People we are talking rubbish. Synners your argument that a leopard doesn't change its stripes doesn't sit that well with me. If i accept this statement, then i lose faith in your posts. After all even youhave changed your views on a few topics, Pagan being one.

Also to add to this "argument" If Fev and Lance have been offered up in the past with no success , why would things change now ? They will only revert back to there old ways.

Sorry but Fev and Lance are not Angwin and Norman..

Now hit me with it !!! :-D :-D :-D

But oits not a crappy 2003.... its a crappy 2002 2003 2004 2005 ..
Its a guy who is too slow for modern day football.
Its a guy who has done nothing for years... and if he is suddenly doing ok... it means hes been taking the mickey out of us for years...
This is a guy who were talking up after SEVEN rounds of footy over a 4 1/2 year period... suddenly he has hit a purle patch and all of a sudden is untradable...

You have to put Lance in his context .. and you have to put this football club in its context on where were at....

The draft Pavlich was drafted Richmond came to us to make a deal on SOS.. they were going to trade Richo and the pick they chose Fiora with (I think #4) for SOS...now if we had that pick wed have Richo and maybe Pavlich.. or maybe Fiora.. regardless wed be better off...

I would never swap SOS back then and i would never swap SOS on what we know today either .. because SOS wore that jumper proudly EVERY game he played for us...and no matter what the present rewards were I never would have done it...(Only played another 3 years) or was it 2)

On the other hand Dog Brown was going to Brissy and we paid over the odds to keep him... we could have traded him for a very good pick and chose to keep him because of sentiment... played one of his next 2 years from his contract and killed us.

Lance can never be compared to SOS... he didnt not wear the navy blue proudly each and every day he has been with us.He took no pride or professionalism in himself for our club year in year out....

He is close to where Dog was when he was going to go to Brissy... he doesnt have the body that will prove resilient and he he plays with a heap of limitations.

i doubt his season will be super consistent.. I also doubt that his playing days are not reasonably close to the end...

Like i said some of you will be in for a continuous "I told you so...."

Were in a rebuilding stage... the 2006 draft will be better than the Judd Hodge draft... some bloody good footballers came out in the top 20 of that draft...

And yes i know.... this club wont have the balls to trade... but its going to ask for the priority pick though isnt it??.... always the easy options.... !!!

thats all we have been doing and thats what holds us back!!
Wont plan for priority picks cos thats hard....
Wont trade because ,,,,,,,,,oooooh.. that might be hard too...!!!

Safe.. each way bets!!!!
Wont go wear out any shoe leather for sponsors... but happy to beg for $$$$$$$....!!

Soft cock approach to building a list for the future...

I reckon were a weak club.... paralysed with fear.... an absolute rabble...

Just holding onto history and past glories....for dear life...

I reckon thats sad...!!!

tractor Boy.. i dont mind what you think about my thoughts... or Denis...

Im not Denis...

And no leopards dont change their spots...

Lance will not be playing good footy in the not too distant future...

He does not have the body for it..
He is slow..

And he has a mental frailty ... which he has shown since his camp eden days...

Fool me once.. shame on you.. fgool me twice.. shame on me...

Simple...

Lance is doing well and I am glad he is.

Offer me a top 10 and I'd take it without blinking.

We are not in normal times, we are in abysmal times and need to make choices.

If we got two top 10 picks this year to go with the likes of Murph Tex and Josh (amongst others) well it may just be time to dance a jig.

If Lance stays I hope he can play like this for the rest of his career

even so

I'd take that pick.

lance said himself this year he has not a niggle, not a one. Which is great. How long will it last, however, and that, to me, is the rub.

Its a gamble but if you were going to gamble from all reports this is the draft to take a gamble on.

Happy for you to say i told you so Synbad but your mentality is to go into the well to keep dipping each year ... say 2007 is a good draft year ... fev could be good bait maybe Waite so we keep going for these number 1 draft picks you start chasing your tail every year. We have to start winning and develpoe some of what we got not keep looking at the golden apple on the branch high above 2015 by the time we have a whole team of round one picks.

You maye patient to wait 5 years more for success but if we dreg around the bottom for the next 2-3 year like you want to keep getting the golden apple ... we wont have members ... supporters .. sponsers .... much harder than it was to get ahead this day and age ... Yes Synbad you and some educated supporters will wait for all these golden apples to bear fruit but there 20K members / supporters who want to see some signs of success ... to have some wins under there belt show we are improving and i mean now not in 2-3 years...

If we where cashed up Synbad and we had 35000 members / Suppporters all saying we can hang on and be bottom dwellers for another 2-3 years then perhaps you have a case but the general supporter / member wont accept this neither will sponsers and geez the players our future guns will be saying i wanna get into a team that wins not gets thumped from piller to post every game. Those golden apples will be easy pickings to other teams showing some success and throwing $$$ at them...

We need to work with what we got ... we will get more talent next year that is a garantee from where we will finish, get as much as we can from Father son if there are some prospects and if we start to climb and show something a lot of other good things will happen.. Languish at the bottom collect the best draft picks every year will show that in 5 years time we will be succeesful if we havnt lost them all along the way and even have supporters / members following the club..

As we say always a lot talent was missed even in last 2 years of the draft ... Davies / Betts / daniel whats his name at Port / possibly a few others have been picked up as well.

I am happy with signs of some of our list which is developing
Simmo / bentick / Waite / thornton / Walker / Fisher / ect ... add to that Hartlett / Kennedy / Russell / Murph / Edwards / Blackwell
prob missed a couple of others

Will have another 2 Picks in the top 25 if the draft goes deep prob another couple in the 30's - 40's

There is something coming through lets see some of these guys flourish

Anyway out of all this we have to start winning a few more games ... the Kids have to taste success get confidence and then the members will be back on board the club will find it a easier club to sell if we are showing success

Yeah i know how we think...

We will just have picks land on our laps....

We will be showered with money by the AFL...

We dont have to make decisions.. do we wolfe???

Steady as she goes....

The AFL will give us money....

They will give us picks ... the poriority pick were after.. for sure!!!

And then we wont have to worry that Fisher or Hartlett and maybe more players become injury prone.. or for one reason or another dont make it...

Everyone will be a gun.. (not potential)... the recruiters will only recruit gun footballers....

We wont work for sponsorships and member money we will have it handed to us on a plate...

No need to trade or anything... to improve our position...

We will keep Lance he will be our captain.... on seven games in 4 plus years...

Life is easy...

Lets go smoke a joint and everything will just fall in its place with a click of the fingers.

its easy being succesful... it just happens...!!!!

Ok so who's is going to take Lance firstly?
And what do we get in return??

Will it be enough to truly satisfy the trade Lance people. Just imagine it. Lance for a quality pick ....and the quality pick could be another....
Sporn, Vance, Livo, Wiggins, Davies...

Thats our proven track record. What then ???

:-D :-D

Actually, Lance was on target to win our best and fairest in 2002 until Fevola crashed into him and busted his shoulder when we played Melbourne at Telstra Dome in the middle of the season, which put him out of action for the rest of the year.
In 2003, Lance once again missed nearly half the year through injury, yet finished 6th in our best and fairest. He certainly didn't have a ''crappy'' year in either season.
In 2004 Lance had his first ,and only, ''crappy'' season for the Carlton Football Club. However, he still played an important role in a number of our victories that year.
In 2006, Lance is showing the benefits of a change of luck with injuries.
For two successive years he has been injury free for most of the pre-season.
Having said that, of course Lance should be traded at the earliest opportunity. Key position players with the physical strength and footy smarts to play on and beat the likes of Barry Hall, Anthony Rocca, Luke McPharlin and Scott Lucas grow on trees don't they ? Any old bozo can play on Barry Hall. Go through the lists of the other 15 clubs and you'll find several players who can hold their ground against the likes of Barry Hall and Anthony Rocca. WE MUST TRADE WHITNALL.

And no, sarcasm is not the lowest form of wit.
Ever listened to a Kevin ''Bloody'' Wilson album or watched an episode of ''Hey Dad'' ?

Lance's head was called for beacause he offered no leadership, he was lazy, inconsistent and lacked fitness.

7 games into 2006 he is clearly our best player, best leader, one of the best performed in the competition and is a light in a dark tunnel.

Credit where credit is due. Why the continued speculation? I thought we knew which posters had the biggest gun in thier pockets.

Lets talk about who he might do over this week.......Gehrig or Riewoldt perhaps.....now that would be worth a post.

Positive vibes guys...positive vibes!
