I suggest that we lobby the Government for all donations via sponsorship and merchandising be tax deductible as a charity donation.

Just like most charities, the money is spent poorly, only a small portion gets to where it is needed but the donors get a fleeting feeling of personal satisfaction followed by remorse that they hadnt spent the money on something worthwhile, like food or those special DVD's you can only buy from Canberra.

I thought that a program for tax deductable donations to the club already exists via the Australian Sports Foundation, or did that cease after the Carlton Heroes Project. :?
