Unfortunately you may have to stand in line IS.

I read his stuff on Big Footy today and some of the reactions are disgraceful.
It is a mob mentality happening and the calibre of some of the Carlton posters is frightening.
It is blatant bullying and thuggery.

Embarrassing.

Cinque, I don't disagree with you but I would like to know how much time you think we should give him. Do we sign him again at the end of this year? If we finish 13-16 next year does he get the flick? Or will that mean all of this patience is wasted because we haven't gone the distance?

Do I know? Nup, perhaps you have some answers?

I take all this pretty personally... If they wear the Navy then I love them...like my family.

This pissweak petition (i'm intitled to my opinion right? well i think it is piss weak). This piss weak petition is like someone putting my own children on the net and getting people to sign it based on how much they hate their guts...so that's why I am so irate.

It will only achieve more negetivity.

I HATE IT.

Lucky we're not Collingwood supporters....

King,

As much you and many others will hate to hear this. I think if we gave Pagan untill the end of next year we qould start to see some really good results and in the end the reason we hung onto him in the first place.

That's a disgrace... sometimes I wonder whether the Internet really is a good thing for football...

LOL, im only joking, ive talked to cammo about it, and yes i probably did threaten violence on him but if you have ever spent any time with the guy or gone to the footy with him or wateva you will know how dumb and full of shìt the guy really is, he doesn't give a crap about anything let alone Carlton, he started it as a joke and then the media got involved so he had to go full ball on it and now i just despise him.

The relevance of Cammos age in this discussion is zilch. I've employed, managed and given responsible roles to 20 year olds and 40 year olds, and both age groups have proven to be disappointing at times; typically human. Alan Pred wrote a thesis about post industrial society in 1958, and predicted the age of the technocrats. We are there now, and he was right about the period, but there really are not that many 20 year old millionaires given the opportunity in the Age of the Technocrat, and those who were successful were successful moreso because of timing and not maturity and planning.

The reason age would have been given any weighting in this discussion has only been as an excuse for a fellow Carlton supporter's reckless actions.

Basically what's been suggested is that Cammo must not have thought this through properly, and that must have to do with his age. Poor Cammo.

Well if age is no excuse then his actions in my books are that of recklessness. Where's the strategy?

Good point made earlier on regarding the negative impact this petition will have on the Pagan haters case for change. What is there left for them in order to gain some support for their emotional plea to rid Carlton of Pagan, if less than 25% of signators agreed with Cammo? It's all over for now I would suggest. Not the opinions but the probability that it will be seriously considered. I would say that Cammo may have even screwed an opportunity for change at the end of this year.

Given money is the other reason that would stop Pagan's early dismissal, I agree it is not a good enough excuse to retain him, if retaining him means a downward spiral for Carlton. But where's the proof that this is happening? Where's the proof that the group will improve exponentially if it Mitchell (or Joe Blow) takes over?

The trend IMO tells me we have bottomed out and are not in a downward spiral on the field (off the field well that's another story). We are blooding our kids, we have the best list of youth we have ever had, and the potential is there. So in that being the case I will leave Pagan alone in this position that he has been contracted to, till I clearly KNOW that HIS actions are the reason for for us not reaching the potential we all expect from this young group. After all it's only the beginning of our revival. We didn't have Murphy, Kennedy, Bower, Edwards last year and it's only Rnd 7.

If we are up on the KPI's and we get the ball (clearances), keep the ball, (possessions) pass the ball (marks), we're on the right track, and if it's our skills that are letting us down, I would be questioning the skills coaches and their methods (if it's not the kids' ability to improve), and then go after Pagan if he is adamant in retaining them (if that's the case).

BV fears that Pagan will be detrimental to the kids' development, and he has proven to put a good argument/case across over the last few weeks, and while I agree with some of the moves he would have or wouldn't have done (great stuff BV), I'm not convinced that if we did this or that is we would have won. That's something we will ever know as being FACT.

I can see trees in those woods.

FFS we won last week...and quietly for the first time in years I reckon we have a good chance against the Saints on Sunday, because we are on the way up.
