Fevola should be our next captain, he is clearly the outstanding candidate.

Ahead of Lance?

While he maybe our most valuable player (key word "valuable") I do not think he has the adequate leadership qualities at all.

Just have a look at the footy show for a start....

Fev has the capacity to lead he has pulled his head in specifically since gettin married and pre baby...we can always do a st kilda rotational capt. Waite, Lance, Fev and a Texas

You're joking right?

I do not want to see the proud CFC handing captaincy of the club around like that. It should be an absolute honour to captain Carlton, look at our recent captains - Bradley had to wait a decade or so to get the gig, Ratts and Kouta likewise.

It should be an honour, not a right to captain the Carlton football club and we need to pick our leaders very carefully. The closest person who has been here a decade is Lance so he would be the logical choice.

Unless we're giving it to Murphy of course

CAPTAIN: FEVOLA
VICE CAPTAIN: STEVENS

why the hell would you make the lard captain??? he had an ok 2005 and has had a good 2006. 2002-2004 was shithouse. he's likely to turn up to pre-season 10kgs overweight, how can we be sure he wouldn't??? I'd back fevola to behave before i would whitnall to keep his weight under control. fevola will grow with the role, whitnall wont.

WHITNALL FOR CAPTAIN IS A BORING, OBVIOUS CHOICE, THAT'S WHY I SUSPECT HE WILL BE CARLTONS NEXT CAPTAIN. THIS CLUB IS GOING NO WHERE IF THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE BALLS TO GIVE FEVOLA THE CAPTAINCY NEXT YEAR WHETHER KOUTA PLAYS ON OR NOT.

Perhaps not but he has been/will be our best player for two years when this season is out (best not the most important or valuable)

Even if he were to get it he'll be a mere transitional captain so to speak. He'll be in the job for a few years until others are ready to take the role and I don't think it'll be too bad a thing for the club.

Just the downside of him doing the press conferences and the interviews
