Could it just be that he wants to get a chance to play in front of a decent midfield??

I'm with him.

Set clear eligibility requirements (and don't stray from them), and set aside a weekend in the middle of the season.

Set some decent financial reward for players, and the rest sorts itself out.

WOULD BE A HUGE WINNER

Would massively benefit carlton.

None of our players would qualify, save for Fev, so we'd get a week off.

Meanwhile, the elite from other clubs would be running around against the Allies.

Sensational.

Whitnall would get a game this season.

They couldn't bring it back as it once was. It needs to mean something to the players. I'm not sure if paying them more money is enough, clubs will still influence them.

Victoria
South Australia
Western Australia

No one else would be competitive. Maybe they could rotate it so that 1 state rests each season.

Tasmania
New South Wales
Queensland

These states could play in a Division 2

Look I know the Westies won't be particularly happy, but scrap WA. They are the 3rd cog and they inadvertantly ruined the State of Origin concept.

Because of the 3rd team, the VFL had to come up with an opponent for a third team. That's where it all went tits up.

It has to be Vic v SA

I couldn't really give a toss about the rest.

Sorry WA (Bec, I know you'll forgive me)

Maybe we should add ACT to NSW and bring in NT into Division 2... then maybe split Victoria into country and metro because of the surplus number of footballers?

This sounds horribly familiar...

Would Victoria be flooding so he can play loose man in a chocka block defence???

Although i think your right, the rugby league only have Queensland Vs NSW and its always Huge, were lucky to have 3 states that are competitive.

I would think that NSW are starting to come up aswell, but the Vic Vs SA rivalry is nothing like NSW Vs Queensland in Rugby. If NSW had a team the VIC Vs NSW rivalry would be good.

It was a mistake to stop it in the first place.

Origin probably needs a couple of years rest to get the groundswell of support running. It's never going to be the spectacle that RL origin is but it could stilll work. It should just be Vic v the rest though.
