I'm surprised no one has mentioned McGrath yet. Played well on Roo. Beat him one out several times. One of his goals was from a highly dodgy 50 too.

Others:
Lappin
Murphy
Simpson
Bentick
Scotland

I'd still rather be a Carlton supporter than a Geelong supporter right now...

We are not the worst team in the competition. Thank you very much Essendon*.

Dwayne Russel just said on radio Port shouldn't take the points because it's like Australia belting Kenya in the cricket.

All comentators agreed Essendon* are the worst side in the league.

There is my positive spin on things.

No spoon unless Essendon* suddenly find something special and a team.

Port 20 9 129
Essendon* 9 15 69

This cloud does have a silver lining because there is another club that's worse off than Carlton and likely to be worse than us next year.

Fletcher - 31
Campo - 31 and a 2-3 year contract
Hird - 33
Ramanauskas - likely to retire due to illness
Lloyd - 28
Solomon - crap
Heffernan - crap
Cole - fat
Bradley - not standing up or developing
J.Johnson - slow and dropped to the reserves.
Lucas - 29
Peverill - crap
Rioli - fat
Bolton
Cartledge
Henneman
Johns
Reynolds

Couldn't clasify these guys as either fat or crap?

My positives :

15 minutes of good football.

We arent the worst team but the second worst...

The worst team has a bit more rebuilding to do than we do.

we are closer to (probably) draft pick number 2.

Send Houla and Teague back to the VFL along with Prenda and Sporn or delist them now

Whilst I agree with sending Teague and Sporn back to the VFL, Prenda by all reports was amongst our best players and provided a bigger body in the back line and around the ground, so I reckon that you are being a bit harsh there mate, especially as it is his first game for the year, and we were always going to be under the pump by Adelaide. He is currently a better option than Saddington and Bannister, IMHO, and gives Pagan the opportunity to send Whitnall forward to help out our forwards on occassion. As for some of his early turn overs, he is hardly alone there in this Carlton team. Carrazzo has been sinfully bad in this area in nearly every game in the seniors this year, yet 50 plus possessions in the Ressies all of a sudden invokes wide-spread amnesia amongst some in this thread. Prenda isn't keeping Bower or Edwards or Hartlett out of this side, and we don't seem to have any others playing reserves to take his place. He deserves a couple more weeks at least to try to prove that he should be retained on the list for a little while longer, if only as a spare parts guy, until we develop some other big bodied youngsters to take his place.

Prenda will never win the Brownlow, nor our best and fairest, but 11 kicks, 12 handballs, 8 marks, 4 tackles and 1 hitout gives him the best stats of any of our big men today. We aren't over-endowed with too many better options IMHO. Just give him a go!

Scotland was not a positive, ran backwards most of the time. We have too many players that are just average; would get 5 games a year anywhere else due to injuries.

Teague at least put his body on the line a couple of times, and took a couple of strong marks.

As Sheldon said in the paper. Get rid of anyone worth a draft pick this year...we might need some good salesman!

Prenda was good as long as he didn't kick the ball.

So what does that say - shit. Gotta kick the ball at some stage.

His shot on goal from 50 out right of screen wasa terrible.

Never noticed it before but while watching Wiggins, his kicking style seems to have simularaties to our Craig Bradley.

Anyway I thought our skipper prob played his best for the year

No mate, posting in a threat entitled 'Positives' is ridiculous after an almost 100 point loss.

posting in a threat entitled 'Positives' is ridiculous when our team continues to make the same mistakes over and over again and demonstrate that no effort has been made to rectify those mistakes.

posting in a threat entitled 'Positives' is ridiculous when the players you praise are lazy, unskilful (shows lack of persistence at training) and careless.

Yes there were some players that did ok - they did OK, NOT great!!! But it's a team game, and our team stinks!

The way we turned the ball over yesterday was unacceptable.

Whats Houlihan on a year? $200,000? And every time he touched the ball it went sailing into Adelaide's hands. That is careless and unacceptable!

AND ITS NOT A POSITIVE!

Individual positives are meaningless... we've had them for the last 5yrs and look where we are now!

It's a team game, and until we show positives AS A TEAM, I'll continue to be the "dropkick [who] wanders into the positive thread and provides the wonderful, insightful commentary of "there were no positives".

Have a lovely day SUPREMO!

We have a POSITIVE thread because there are still a few (OK, not many) but a few people who want to highlight an incident, a player, a moment to hang their hats on for the next few years of pain.

There are positives to come out of every game, currently though there are few. But they are there.

There are plenty of places to air negativity BLUEtiful, but this thread isn't one of them.
